THUD.
[weakly] Who wants to get rid of the one they have in the cupboard under the stairs?
I have had mine a few years.
It worked out cheaper than buying a separate steamer and vacuum cleaner. Although I do have a small vacuum cleaner that is still working well after fifteen years as back up and used for the car.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Hi
Very quick question - please dont move this as all I want is a simple answer.
I have a lightweight steam cleaner thing that you fill with water and steam the floors with. It has pads for hard floors and is very light as I said. (Can I put the make?)
I am either not using it properly or it is a waste of money..........doesnt seem to clean that much, apart from smear the hard floors/tiles and make the carpets smell.
Thoughts anyone?
Thank you

Have you checked the instructions for any trouble shooting - just to see if it's being used correctly?
There is a thread on steam cleaners which may be useful, I've no experience of them myself . Ill merge this later
Good luck

Hi
I have a Polti on order which, sadly!,:D I am very excited about.
All of the reviews and comments have been very positive and I know that everything will be virtually dry when cleaned. However, by nature of the fact that it will be steam that will be doing the cleaning, what sort of ventilation will I need or is this not really anything to be worried about?
ThanksA smile costs little but creates much0 -
you will be fine as long as you dont have a very very sensitive smoke alarm
ive got the blue vappereto and i love it, i have the windows open in the room im cleaning as if i dont my smoke alarms go off and the same happened when my mum used it to clean the bathroom, but when she did the downstairs floors and kitchen it was fine, it was just due to the confined space of the bathroom setting the alarm off.
eta
i use mine for cleaning the bathroom and kitchen mainly, i use the direct steam function on it and then wipe it with an old towel (have lots of cheepy ikea 20p odd hand towels) and then chuck it in the wash, when i do the floor i use again an old ikea towel and the MUCK  from the floors was disgusting!0 -

if I use my Polti for a long time in the same place, I just make sure I have a window or door open.
when I use it to defrost my freezer it is in a confined space so the steam can build up in the air, so I just open a door or window.
for the usual regular jobs you won't notice much build up at all.
happy cleaning!bertie200
