  • AnnieBL, so sorry to hear the news too, how very sad. The poem from Churchmouse was lovely, and very appropriate I thought.

Happy birthday to Hilstep :bdaycake: :bdaycake:

Thank goodness it's Friday! It seems like it's been a LONG week. I'm still trying to train my class, even though they'll be leaving at the end of term (I teach Year 2 in an Infant School!). Bless them. :D

I think I told you that at the beginning of March, my class won the choral speaking competition in the Peterborough Drama Festival. Today we had to perform it in front of the whole school and various parents and important people and a photographer from the local rag. :D Needless to say, all the children were flying around the ceiling for the whole day.

I've just had an early tea in preparation for tonight as I'm ushering at the cinema night, so I get a free ticket to watch the film. Ok, so it's Ratatouille, which has been on DVD for a while but it's better than nothing, isn't it?! ;)

Anyway, I'd better go and get ready (ie changing into my jeans before walking into town) for tonight.

Hi all. went to hospital. Last time we went the paediatrician said the high blood pressure wasn't caused by DDs poorly kidney and he was going to ask for advice from a colleague who is a BP specialist at Birmingham children's hospital. The result of that is that the high BP is certainly cuased by the poorly kidney after all and she is now on medication to try and lower her BP-it is 147/94 today. We have to go back in a fortnight-the dr we saw today was most emphatic that we should keep copies of the hospital telephone number with us at all times and that we should phone immediately if she feels unwell............ I am very concerned by this-they've never done that before. I don't really know what to think-outwardly DD seems fine-if she isn't she isn't telling me as yet.
Well at least she is having a couple of friends sleeping over tonight so that will take her mind off it.
better go drink my cuppa while OH cooks the tea.

tattykath... you keep a close eye on dd and make sure she understands it's important for her to talk to you.

 Ooooh! it's cold! DD and her cello quartet are playing under a marquee with no sides for the Mayor's ball tonight. 8C and dropping! Taken clothes pegs as its rather breezy!

Starting to feel a little better, but not like doing anything. Done a bit of knitting and finished sewing up my lovely cross-knit gloves.

Emailed dh a shopping list, he called in at Mr M after work. This was always going to be a high risk strategy...total cost of shopping £38.07. Items not on list as follows.... Kronenbourg 1664 (10.99), 2 bottles Lindemanns red wine (2x £3.99) Bike Magazine £3.99. That's £22.96! My shopping (spuds, milk, spread, yogurts, cornflakes, tissues, 3 x flour plus the apples I forgot to put on the list (well spotted DH!)was £15.11!

I don't really count booze in on my grocery purse, as it's something that we tend to buy very erratically (dh more erratically than I, obviously!)

Ah well, at least he did the shopping willingly! I must update my sig. First day with a spend for nearly 2 weeks I think! I might even come in under budget for the first time since I started this lark!

Hester how horrible for your hubby, working all week and nothing to show for it, all down to a woman spending too much on clothes and booze
