OS daily thread 18th April

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 18 April This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good Morning Everybody :hello:
First time for me starting the thread, so I hope I have managed it ok.
Well I had a restless night, spent it downstairs so that DH could get some sleep without me up and down all night.
(((hugs))) to everyone in need, smoky, penny pincher, Benthos and anyone I haven't mentioned.
If I feel better later I will put the BM on for a loaf and maybe get some washing done. If I don't feel better I'll just recline on the sofa all day
See you all later

Morning AB and all who follow:
Had to smile when I put the mouse over the thread to select it and and short review came up, title is abbreviated to the first 4 characters, but in my semi awake state thought it was the first 3 and and exclamation mark.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Off on a bus trip today to a flower auction and a dam somewhere. Bus arrives at 8.15am!!! and we are on holiday!
(((hugs)))) to those who'd like/need one, especially Smoky & Pen-pin and their families.
Take care - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Morning Arkonite_babe, Donny-Gal & all who cross/follow,
It`s a lot warmer here today and it was nice to see it coming light not long after I arrived at w**k, it makes a huge difference to how I feel.
I`m on my second cuppa and it dosen`t seem too busy but I expect it`ll be mad later with it being Friday and all.
Found out late last night that my auntie went into hospital for her long awaited hip replacement. She has had nothing but trouble since she was hit by a car which drove off and left her in the middle of the road, she has had a stroke whilst she was under the anaesthetic, the hospital say that she is stable now so fingers crossed for her. I should be able to get to see her on Sunday night, I wish I could get along before then but my shifts all coincide with visiting hours.
((((Hugs)))) to all the poorlies today, hope you are feeling better soon
Special ((((HUGS)))) to Penny Pincher & Smoky
Have a great day everyone
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning all
Big hugs to Smokey & PP & Mrs Mix
I'm getting my car exhaust fixed today, hopefully & it shouldn't be too expensive thanks to my DS.
I slept like a log last night, probably exhausted by 5 hours playing with GDS.
When I dropped hubby at the station this morning all the crows were just getting out of their nests, there was so much activity in the tree tops.
I have some sewing to finish today, apart from that & cooking tea, I don't have any plans as I'm not sure how long it will take to get the car sorted.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

its really stormy outside. pouring with rain and the wind sounds bad.
Didnt get any gardening done yesterday.Dr has refered DS to hospital for an opinion on his ongoing illness. Told me his bloods were fine which I know they werent so quite disappointed in him. Anyway he is refering him on so can't complain.
So I think today I will sort out the ironing pile, and hope for better gardening weather over the weekend. could really do with spring cleaning the wardrobes and getting rid of clothes that are just cluttering the rails and never get worn. I have a lot of "office" clothes for my last job that I will never wear again.
dinner tonight is turkey steaks which I will marinate before grilling.
hugs for all the Ostylers who need them...special thoughts for PP, Smoky.....and my memory fails me now....you know who you arex x x0 -
Good morning everyone  Really bigs hugs (and lots of virtual chocolate) to those that need them
It's so quiet here it's lovely - I have the lab to myself and the chance to get s few small things done before people start filing in. Kettle has just boiled too. I may well leave early again today which will be nice.
We had quiche last night for tea, there is still a large amount of it left, so we may well have it again tonight if the guys don't eat it for lunch.
Have a good day everyione, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Morning all
(((((PP, smokey))))) and for everyone else who needs them at the moment. Hope those feeling poorly don't feel too bad today either. Well done AB, you started it fineHester, fingers crossed the car isn't too expensive either, reminds me mine is due its MOT & tax (though that's only £35 for the year) in the next couple of weeks. Had kittens the other day when I got over to Bognor & it suddenly wouldn't restart?!?! Never had any problems before & that really wasn't the best timing...luckily it decided to cooperate after 5 mins.
Anyway, in Uni for me today, end of my time offGearing up for a manic/stressful few weeks ahead.... Maybe meet a friend for coffee at lunchtime.. So not much OS going on here till later - got a rubber chicken to cook though.

Morning
Busy day here, DS and fiancee are moving house today, so I am going to babysit DGD, and generally help out. I remember moving 18 years ago, and it was very stressful, waiting for the keys etc. so may need a nice glass of wine later while watching Benidorm.
Dieting may go out of the window, as I think it will probably be a case of grabbing what we can when we can
Lots of hugs to PenPin and Smokey :kisses3: . Arkonite, hope you feel better soon xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Morning all
It has been so windy here! Yesterday was very, very blustery...My washing came off the line, our trellis came down and we almost lost the fence! It still sounds noisey out there this morning, I haven't been brave enough to look yet as I don't want to see if the trellis has come down again!
It is my birthday tomorrow, so I am meeting DH in his lunch break to choose my pressie:D I really want a greenhouse to put up on my allotment and I think I have managed to talk him in to it. Really excited as I have wanted one for ages.
Washing is in the machine, so if it is windy out again then I will have a fun morning playing chase the washing around the garden! Dinner tonight is tortillas and salad.
Have a good day everyone - hugs to those that need them.0 -
