Has anyone experienced problems cancelling the insurance (eg reclaiming cheque). My insurance began 30th October. If i cancel in the next few days what % will they charge for a cancellation?Filiss0 -

My letter also says "the difference". If that's not what we get, they'll be getting a cruise missile from me...... They'll know it's coming but there's nothing they can do to stop it!
I did specify in my letter that we were claiming double and I even specified the amount. Their standard reply doesn't counter this.....

Cheque received today for double the difference, £274.10, thus giving me £570 of nationwide insurance for under £300.
thanks to all

Phew, received my cheque for £88 today. Some people have had such amazing savings, it mightn't seem that much but it's still works out £60 cheaper than the cheapest quote I could find :beer:0

Got my cheque for £193 yesterday. A little bit less than I expected but none the less I am delighted. I will still call to query the differecne( about £10). Great offer. Looking at the svings other people have made I doubt it is one they will repeat!0

For all of you who have already made money on this, I've just succesfully made a further huge profit by cancelling the policy and getting my refund. In total I've spent/made the following:
Original purchase - £1640
Double difference refund - £1750
Cancellation minus 2 months cover - £1275
Total profit = £1385.
Then I took out much cheaper 10 month cover with Bell for £565, leaving me with £820 and a years insurance. Top money saving, thanks to all those with advice on this forum.0 -
Received a cheque for £588 so got my years insurance for just £90, nice one0

I finally got the cheque!
Free insurance for a year plus £60.
It took quite a bit longer than the promised 30 days though.
Nationwide lost the documents I sent them. Luckily I had sent them recorded delivery and they had been signed for.
I had the usual customer services pass the parcel experience. General Enquiries say ring the Motoring Division. They say ring General Enquiries. Round and round I went with occasional stop-offs with the customer services departments of subsidiary companies that I had been patched through to.
Rachel Laidler managed to sort it out in the end (phone number culled from this board - thank you, thank you, kind poster). Once I was in contact with her it only took several calls, emails and a few weeks more waiting before I received the cheque!
Thank goodness that's over. I wonder if Nationwide will repeat the offer next year.0 -
I have just received my cheque! But it is not what I was expecting. The difference in quote was £280. But they have just sent me a cheque for £280 and not double the difference (I was expecting £560 - double the difference).
Has anyone else had this occur? I'm going to call customer services first thing in the morning but in the mean time wondered if anyone else have had the same thing occur.0
