Also it may be possible to benefit from one of the cashback sites...there is links for M&S on a few of them, and a link for M&S money on the website. If I do end up taking out the policy I'll report back.

number6 - why can't you benfit from this offer? Are NW cheaper? or are you not actually renewing?
SimonIf at first you don't succeed... CHEAT...0 -
Sent off claim form and comparison details on the afternoon of 27th September and received letter today saying claim was successful. Can't believe how quick the reply was. Many thanks for the saving Martin. I wouldn't have known about it if I didn't check your site constantly. xxx0

My renewal isn't until November, and I can't find policies that are comparable that would save me a massive amount (only about £20) got to check out the M&S policy in more details but the £50 double return from Nationwide is probably worth less to me than the Breakdown and improved other benefits...
Although if you can suggest individual insurers that are comparable...
Cheers

Sent off claim last week. Had my letter from nation wide today. £300 coming my way
Used yes insurance for quote.
Was beginning to worry because martin seemed to have gone very quiet on the subject and danger mouse didnt take him up on his offer.
Never mind though, all's well that ends well. Now all i've got to do is work out what to do with all the junk insurance mail thats dropping through the door.
So much for ticking all those boxes that said no further contact please!!Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -
I tried getting a response from Nationwide re my earlier questions re if policy is cancelled or car is changed part way through the policy - what would happen, all to no avail. I got passed from pillar to post and then left on hold for eternity.....
Has anyone else managed to get a response to these questions at all?
Congrats to all those who have been successful so far and good luck to everyone else. Not sure what I will do yet - but I might just take a chance anyway in the hope that if I end up cancelling my policy half way through then they won't ask for a refund of double the difference (If i am even successful)!0 -
We are getting a refund cheque from Nationwide for husbands insurance which is fine but they will not give me a quote for my own insurance due to 2 unfortunate accident claims!
Insurance had gone up from £413 last year to £472 this year which I was not happy about as I have a protected full no claims bonus and so my logic was that the premium should be as if I had not had any accidents.
Everyone knows that new customers get preferential rates so put in my details for an online quote with my details and full no claims and it gave a quote of £359 which I saved. Then got husband to ring call centre (he is much better at this than me) and point out the large discrepancy and ask what they could do about it.
First person not terribly helpful as they would not be able to give new customer discount again and postcode had gone up etc. He called back again and spoke to someone else who was very nice and chatty and she asked for the reference of the online quote that I had saved and was able to reduce the premium to £381. A saving of £81 from 2 phone calls was well worth half an hour of husbands time.
If at first you don't succeed ...... try again. :j0 -
Has anyone who has had a claim accepted for the double discount refund, found exactly the same cover for abroad? the ones I have found all seem to be slightly different.0
-
Re cover abroad - It does not seem to matter if it is not identical. Our policy was not quite the same but I think that the point is that the policy you are using as a comparison, covers you to drive legally abroad without paying an additional premium. Our "cheaper policy" was Esure.0

For those who have claimed successfully, how did you prove your cheaper quote? Has anyone sent in webpage printouts, and if so, did you print out all pages to show you entered exactly the same info?
Any advice gratefully received - this could work out expensive if I get it wrong!0
