Wait 30 days to see if she collects then do an eBay "100% profits for charity" auction.

  • who was the seller?, would love to see her ratings!

Do you really expect us to believe you have to walk the two miles to the post office?

I emailed back & said I am perfectly willing to send it back but I am not paying for your mistake & £5 is in my opinion a reasonable amount. If you are not willing to pay £5 then you are welcome to come & collect it.

Sounds fair to me. Very fair. Or they can send a SAE and you'll post it the next time you're at the PO. If she gets shirty then just say you're withdrawing your offer to post it back and if she doesn't arrange for it's collection within 14 days then you will arrange for its disposal by any means you see fit.

um, If I didn't have a car, I would have to walk 4 as I don't live on a bus route so why should we not believe her?

I would just seal it up in the packaging it came in and next time I was in town drop it into the post office, put it straight into the sack - let her pick up the post at her end. Meanwhile mail her and tell her you will return it at your convenience. (however, loving Radley myself, would have to think twice about returning it at all lol)

Personally, I'd tell her that I had posted it back in the same packaging with return to sender on it; and just report her obnoxious messages to ebay. Then send it to one of the nice people on here if you don't want it yourself.

Don't feel guilty about keeping it; some people are simply not worth it.

edited to add; if you do send it back, make sure something really heavy is also in the packaging to up the postage that she has to pay at the other end...

You not a "unreasonable moo" at all. In fact you seem to have been quite reasonable the sender seems unable to accept responsibility for her/her husbands actions..If you follow the actions as per meesters post which is actually from the The Unsolicited Goods and Services Act 1971 then your legally clear as well.

    Hi.

    The legal position is:

    1. If you contact the sender and inform them about the goods, they have 30 days from that date to COLLECT them. You do NOT have to do it yourself. For example the sender could ask DHL to pick it up from your house. This would obviously cost more than £5! So you are doing them a favour.
    2. If the seller does not collect with in 30 days of you informing them, the goods are yours
    3. If you do not ask the seller to collect the goods, they are yours after six months
