  • Personally I'd keep the abusive emails for a while and if she sends anything else then report her to ebay. If she specifically threatens you then report her to the police. I know this will upset a few people on here as they will say the police have better things to do but I would say your personal safety is more important than say, sending 2000 officers out to guard a little flame from the scary streets of London. Although the people that said you should have kept the bag for a while to give her the chance to have it collected were correct I think, the only recourse I could see for her to try and recoup her money would be to take you to the small claims court and as she's a business seller she would have to come to you, not something that would be easy to do for someone who claims to be skint? I think it would also be interesting to see what any judge would make of her attempts at persuasion (especially the f***ing c*** comment!), and in my opinion it would be relevant.
I just think after that sort of abuse shes lucky you didn't fill it full of dog poo and send it to her cash on collection . Good luck.

Haha, I've actually considered doing something like that before when I got ripped off on ebay, however, it is illegal (for some strange reason) and it wouldnt be hard to find out where it had come from (who sent it I mean, not which specific dog of course!).

In the end, I got my money back by going through the small claims court, and then every auction he started after that, I emailed every bidder to let them know what he had done to me (yes that took some time, but it was worth it!)

Can the OP post a link to an auction that the seller is running now please??! :D

Hi Loobylou, I would keep all the emails, both the abusive and the ones saying you can have it back and the ones where she chooses not to collect or pay her own charge for P&P.

I doubt very much the police would be interested in this as a case. If she decides to go down the small claims court route, you will have evidence that she chose not to pay a reasonable charge for its return or collect it, so effectively did not want it anymore. No judge is going to side with her.

Let us know how it all turns out.
