  • Hi Angelwillow - just wanted to know are you talking about CC charges from GE capital?? I took them to FOS who passed me on to FLA and I received a letter from FLA -as follows
    Dear Mrs XXX

    Code of practice

GE Capital Bank Ltd has contacted the FLA about your complaint. A copy of the response is attached. Please read the correspondence carefully.
The company has provided a very comprehensive response which I trust addresses all elements of your complaint. You must decide if the response resolves this matter for you. You are entitled to make further comments. Please do this as soon as possible. If you wish you can write to the company directly. If you do, please send me a copy for your file. In your response it is important that you set out what you believe remains outstanding and how you feel this can be resolved, providing any supporting documentation if relevant and if available.

You may contact us if you have any questions. Please quote the above reference in all correspondence.

and GE's letter says (it goes on for 5 pages!!!
that they will only refund me the difference between the £18 charges and £12 which the OFT agree is reasonable - I'm not sure what to do yet - thinking about asking for ALL :o

I got my cc charges back but only after issuing court action (and I got the whole lot) - it's ppi that I'm trying to sort out now but thanks anyway.
One more thing tho - they gave me that line about OFT aswell and it's not strictly true. The OFT did not say £12 was reasonable, what they actually said was over £12 WASN'T but £12 was still deemed more than necessary.
    Fight on!

With my GE MONEY PPI i I mentioned the mis selling and they said that only covered the year they were fined, I wrote back and said did they expect us to believe that for that one year only and not before that they mis sold PPI,
I waiting for my reply !:D

My thoughts exactly - but when I mentioned it they ignored it surprisingly enough!

Hi, not had time to catch up but flicked through quick and noticed everyone is on about this store cards thing and PPI and not being able to take these to the FOS.

Any sale of insurance had to be regulated from Janaury 2005 so if you had a store card from that date then whoever sold the insurance to you had to be regulated and if not then it was not a legal sale. If FOS is saying they cannot deal with insurance complaints on store cards until 2007 then i would want an explanation to this.

Are peeps on about credit card/store card charges here or PPI????

I asked the FO about both but possibly as mine were before 2005 is why they couldn't help - mine were 2003.

Just double checking here now but were they not under GISC then before Jan 2005 ?

Saying that this would also depend on what the complaint was about in order for it to get looked at by the FOS...... .

    there's all these pro's and cons........

But they are still saying contact the FOS who can't help in all instances, especially before regulation.
