I signed my agreement in may 2006 and my loan and PPI where all on one form
Looking by this they should not have been...

It says here by the competition commission

Since the into force of the Consumer Credit (Agreements)(Amendments) Regulation on 31st May 2005 an additional form of consent must be included in credit agreements to be signed by a debtor where a debtor is purchasing PPI.

Did you receive an additional form of consent??

    Details here

This information must also be shown clearly on the loan agreement itself, with a separate document with separate information on the loan agreement for any payment protection insurance (PPI) that is being taken out. The two agreements must be separate so that the consumer knows that they are signing for two different, separate products.
  • I got a letter from FOS last Saturday to report on the status of my complaint. It is still being reviewed by an ombudsman but due to the volume of complaints they cannot give a timescale when my case will reach a conclusion. This is so frustating because my case has been with them since Jan '08. Do you think it's worthwhile ringing them on a bi-weekly basis for an update or sit tight? I could certainly benefit from the money right now!

    Hi there
Contact them and request a "fast track" due to your struggling/financial difficulties, they may just request some evidence of this, bank statements etc, but it maybe worth your while.
No harm in trying hun, and yes get in touch with them now and again to see how its all going.;)

    Good luck!

    Morning folks.

I have been going through the SAR of what I received from Nemo, and this was the last secured loan I had which was in July 2006, so I thought while looking through I may come across separate agreements, but nope nothing, and surely a copy of this would have been supplied with the SAR.

However, I do have the copy of the agreement and the demands and needs, but nothing to show there were anything signed separately, now I assume there would be one agreement for the loan and another for the ppi, but not in my case either  .

Seems a lot of cases like this but i don't know what law if any they have broken. Looks like the CCA agreement amendment but is it the OFT you have to go to to make a complaint???

  • One Step closer!!!!

I have just been off the phone to HFC Bank felt guilty but just asked them to open my account. She asked if it was current, I said no it was payed off about 3 years ago. Gave her my account number on the paperwork, went through the usual security questions and I asked her was I paying PPI on the account and if so how much a month was I paying?

Surprisingly she worked it out at £31.72 a month on this account.

    I'm getting a bit giddy ;)

    So I guess I should be seeking £31.72 x 39 months x 8%?
  • hi.i sent off my letter to barclays to try and reclaim my ppi.they replied back on 18 august to say they would look into it.then another letter on 28 august to say its been passed to head office and being looked into.then another letter today to say its being looked into.is this the way its normally handled??how long is it usually before you get a bit more info about whats happening??

Did you tell here though that you thought it was 15.4% of your loan or was she telling you as both myself and tiggrae have agreed if your received the payment of £10800 into your bank account and made repayments of the £214 per month then that works out at NO PPI on that account. I am totally confused here???

Also you cannot work it out as you have? If there was a single premium on the loan then you first need the actual amount of the £10800 that was the PPI and then work out the interest you paid when you settled the account.
