Blimey folks I have a job to keep up with you lot tonight.....:o .

Even though I worked for the NHS for a few years, in school I did study a year of law oh and accounts but.......:o say no more...... pmsl....:o .
I went to college studied Social Care, Sociology, didn't do too bad then worked for the NHS until I had my children, worked part time here and there since, but as hubby's occupation is working shifts and being a carer for my son its having time running here and there now.

One of my sister's is a Chartered Accountant and I remember when she was also doing a bit of work at home, I would not have a clue where to start  , her hubby is a private pilot for "Castle Air" the private firm in Liskeard in Cornwall, lucky thing meets all the stars, directors, actors, you name it, he flies them everywhere, and when he is on TV he thinks nothing of it..... , so now my sister who was a Chartered accountant for this company she now does it at home because they have a son now, wish I could do something at home...... (homeworking that does not involve paying out any fees would be good)......:D

Golly see I am one heck of a chatterbox when I start lol, I'm out of breath now lol......:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Di, thats what i did when i had my son, went in three days and then bought work home too. Went back full time and then after my daughter have not done it again as the stress was not the sort for my family life and must admit I have loved every minute of being at home and having little jobs (doing anything really) and never thought i would. I think for me it was a case of one or tother and this one won. I am getting itchy again now my daughter has gone to high school but to me she is still so little in a way and i have always been here for her. My son was used to me working when he was little. You can't win, you feel guilty for being out at work and then guilty for being at home too. My bp has been far better as well since i quit the office and I was hospitalised 4 times with it. Its a disease that you cannot feel so you just carry on. (Its hereditary - i only weight 8 and half stone)

It must be so difficult for you with what you have been through hun and how you have done it I do not know.
I am still on meds for my BP but yes it can be very dangerous, so be careful.

You could quite easy get a job anytime hun, so for now enjoy yourself at home and besides we need you here ;) , I know what you mean with your daughter being what you call little and feeling guilty for working or for not working, its a no win situation, but hun you are amazing, and we all know that here.

Hope you get a better sleep tonight and feel loads better by the morning hunni.;)

  • hi guys,

my brother has a halifax loan of about 7k and he has PPI with it. problem is he doesn't know much more about it. he did the application over the phone and remembers the agent being quite pushy about take PPI out with the loan, but can he claim that he was mis-sold the product?

he's not even sure how much it is-whether it's a lump sum he pays or what.

    any advice?

    Hi there

When did your brother actually take out this loan/ppi hun ?
It seems to me he has been mis sold this ppi, so i would tell him to get a complaint reclaim letter sent to their complaints department for as soon as possible.

Check out the template on this site, he can use that and add as much information as possible of his own.

Has he any of the paperwork to this loan by any chance ?
Here is the link to the reclaiming guide and there is also a link on that actual link of a template reclaim letter.

  • Really fed up.

At suggestion of FLA I got a doctors letter (cost £20) to send to G.E confirming I had an existing medical condition that isn't covered ' mental conditions including stress etc' (copied from their t&c).
Today I got this reply and the FLA can't take it any further.
GE in no way wishes to belittle your condition. However, GE does not feel that the letter from your doctor is sufficient evidence that you were suffering from a medical condition which made the policy of no use to you. It is not clear that a claim submitted by you would have been refused on the basis of this illness. When considering PPI policies on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions it is usually expected that the illness is such and affects the individual in such a way that it is highly unlikely that a claim would be accepted.
  • Despite me having to declare it for health & safety at work and my car insurance it isn't important enough a condition for them and they have the cheek to say they don't wish to belittle me!
Yeah I feel so much better.

I would fight this one angelwillow. I guarantee if it stated that on the policy and you have had troubles that way then no way would they have paid out.

I could almost guarantee they would put anything you had down to "stress" and disallow the claim.

About separate agreements as from May 2005.

How to tell if you have a single premium policy?
This type of policy is mainly sold with loans rather than credit or store cards. If it’s a single premium policy, the original paperwork will show the insurance as a fixed lump sum amount.
If the agreement was after May 05, you would have been asked to sign a separate agreement so you should have extra paperwork for the loan and the insurance.
It’s also noteworthy that these policies are often only valid for five years max; even if your loan term is longer, so you could get a five year policy but end up paying interest on the insurance for the full loan term! If you didn’t realise your cover only lasts / lasted for five years read the general mis-selling section for more info

I signed my agreement in may 2006 and my loan and PPI where all on one form
