In June 2003 I took 60 months car finance and monthly premium was taken from my account by Direct Debit.
In May 2005 I requested settlement. After I received settlement figure in May 2005 car finance settlement figure was paid in full and my finance agreement was cleared and my Direct Debit was canceled.
More than three years after in September 2008 I received a letter from the same car finance services requesting one month outstanding payment? I was shocked.
I checked all my documents and I found that from the beginning there was charges of £8.08 on the top of the monthly premium. Those charges represent PPI?
I replied by letter stating that in May 2005 car finance agreement has been settled in full, monthly payment was taken by DD and there never was any outstanding payment.
Unfortunately it cross my mind that I was paying for PPI and this PPI could be incorporated in the settlement figure i paid in May 2005.
How can I claim back this PPI i was not aware of? Any advice, please.

Hi there hun
It seems quite clear to me you have been mis sold ppi.
Write to them and reclaim the ppi amount back, and tell them you were not informed of this at the time of the sale of this product.
Also inform them if they fail to uphold and refund you, you will not hesitate to take your complaint to the financial ombudsman service.
There is a template on the site for this and if you think there are also other reasons of why you were mis sold add that on your letter of complaint too.
They have 8 weeks to deal with this as from the date on your letter.
(Click on above red square) - where it states reclaim £1,000's, on that link there is a template on that page and also a list of mis selling reasons.
Feel free to post up for further help hun and good luck!
Di.

Hi here is the link to go to the PPI reclaiming information. You will find a link there for a template letter.

You have to decide if you were mis-sold the PPI there are parameters on there that you can check. You will need to send a SAR off and £10.00 to the company to get all your information. Do you have paperwork there?:D:mad:0 -
Sorry Di you beat me to it. Was just having break from ironing.:mad:0

Hi there, I was just about to send of a completed MCOL form in an attampt to reclain PPI paid on an HFC credit card opened in 1992. I think I have been able to make a good case for this being mis-sold....ie it wasn't properly explained to me as if it was and I knew that it was optional I would not have taken it out as it was not suitable for my needs etc etc. I have been feeling a bit wobly about doing this as I am not sure what I am letting myself in for so have been putting it off.I have just recieved an e-mail from a company telling me that they can help me to reclaim PPI and offering their services. has anyone any experience of anything like this and is there any advantage in using this service. I do realise that they would take a cut but could that be worth it? Any thoughts very welcome. Thanks.0

Hi all PPI Reclaimers
Have listened to SAR and now about to write to FP to reclaim my missold PPI back. I'm absolutely flummoxed as to how to work this out and wondered if anyone could help. Approx Loan details below (not put exact figs as am paranoid the wrong people could be watching):
Loan: £35,000 over 10 years (120 months)
PPI: £ 8, 500
Monthly Loan repayments: £400.00
Monthly PPI: £ 95.00
Have paid 3 years so far (36 months).
Have no idea where to start as APR started out at 7.7% and is now at 9.6%
any help very very gratefully received.
