  • Hi Trigg

I did pay it off early, about 30 months in so only 6 months early, but they still charged me for the PPI.

I paid just over £2,000 to settle the account when I actually should only have paid £1900 (approximate price, the exact is in an earlier email) but this is what they have refunded me.

What I am asking them is what has happened to all of the other PPI i have paid in the months before I settled the account.

    Soooo confusing!

    Thanks

Absolutely nothining to do with PPI but thought it was good news for anyone wanting to purchase first time or to sell their house.(if under £175K)

Stamp Duty threshold raised to £175,000 from today for 12 months.

if they are repaying your PPI in full - it should be the £964 + APR Interest + 8% Statutory Interest (which is calculated individually against each of the monthly premiums you've paid - you can work this out using the bank charges calculator on the bank charges forum)

I think so unless the firm has produced some more strong evidence which i very much doubt they would. Also you are allowed to give more information too but if you already won on what you gave initially then you would most probably win again. Try not to worry about it. I think this is stalling method that some firms use.

I feel more re-assured. Thanks again.
  • Hi

I have just recently started claiming back nearly £2000 from Direct Auto Finance for PPI that was sold to me around 3 years ago I sent them the standard letter off here and have today received a reply with a copy of the aggreement etc, also in this letter in the first paragraph it states

'We reject any suggestion that the sale of the policy was in any way mis sold. We have appropriately sought such information about your circumstances as might reasonably be expected. You signed contemporaneius documents stating that the optional insurance products had been explained'

What do they mean when they say 'appropriately sought information about my circumstances'

I am going to send them the 2nd letter off here as I was completely mis sold the policy.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

what they should do is go through what is called a demands & needs statement by which they identify whether a payment protection insurance policy is both wanted and suited to your personal circumstances. That's what they are trying to tell you they did when you took out the PPI - so basically it's a fob off letter by which they are telling you they don't believe the policy was mis sold.
