....From what some people on here are saying they are having difficulties with complaints to Barclays and getting responses on time but if after 8 weeks they have not responded then you can take your complaint to FOS without.

If it is found to be missold to you then you will be put back into the position as if you never had the PPI applied to the loan and also get 8% statutory interest on top. There is a massive waiting list at the FOS at the moment but its seemingly worth the wait.

If you need any more help here then give us a shout.

    Hello,

I asked Barclays to look at the way in which PPI was sold to me in May. I had a letter early June to say they would respond to me no later than the 26th of June.. on the 23rd of June, I got a letter to say they would respond no later than 24th of July, and then 22nd of July I get a letter to say they are not in a position to provide me with a full response just yet but will do as soon as possible. They included the FOS leaflet with this letter. I've not heard nothing since.

Is this a good sign or a bad sign?

Should I be contacting the FOS or just write back to Barclays to remind them that I am still waiting and have not forgotten about it?

    Many thanks for your help.

You are now entitled to take your complaint to the FOS but again i would write to Barclays as well.

fill out the FOS Complaint form and send it them along with copies of the correspondence you made and received to date, send a copy of the form to Barclays as 'a courtesy'

    Hi there
Down to my experience this had also happened to me and then I thought enough is enough, so now my complaints are in with the FOS, these banking companies tend to use stalling tactics, but like Marshallka says, you are in your right to take your complaint to the FOS now, so go for it hun, they have had more than enought time to deal with your complaint.;)

  • have you had a look on the PPI success board - it's a good way to find out how/what Halifax are paying out etc and what lengths people are having to go through, I think Halifax seem to pay up fairly quickly, but you'll have to check - you cant add posts there as it's just for success stories - but it cheers you up, well it did me!!!:o
Hi, I did look on the success board and I found it a bit frightening. Some seem to have got it back without much trouble but others have had to dig their heels in.
But what I am wondering is what happens when someones loan is still active once the Halifax or any other bank pays out. Would I continue paying the loan as normal? Do they cancel the ppi on it? I dont know what happens then. Please help. Thanks.
