I am currently paying back a loan from barclays. It was over 5 years, i have 3 years left. I have read through all the info and I am certain I was mis sold the ppi.
I think the ppi was a single premium policy??
I would like to try and claim back the ppi i have paid up to yet, but I am worried as I use my barlcays bank account for all my finances.
can you claim back ppi when you are still paying off a loan ? and will it mess anything up with my barclays account ?0 -

Can i ask when this PPI was added?? If it was after the 14th January, 2005 then it is much easier with single premium policies in that the FSA took over the regulation of selling insurance and most complaints made to the FOS are being upheld.
As it is Barclays Bank they would have been within jurisdiction of the FOS and it was under six years ago it was sold to you if they do say no it was sold correctly then you can take your complaint to them. You first need to give the bank 8 weeks to give a full and final response to your complaint. From what some people on here are saying they are having difficulties with complaints to Barclays and getting responses on time but if after 8 weeks they have not responded then you can take your complaint to FOS without. Remember to send all your post by recorded delivery as this gives you a proof of posting and delivery.
If it is found to be missold to you then you will be put back into the position as if you never had the PPI applied to the loan and also get 8% statutory interest on top. There is a massive waiting list at the FOS at the moment but its seemingly worth the wait.
If you need any more help here then give us a shout.0 -

Hi there Emma
Marshallka is right, it should not intervene with your banking with these.;)Between me and hubby right now, we have 3 complaints in with the FOS about being mis sold by our bank which is Lloyds TSB, I have also made the bank aware of this, and have many more complaints to do against these too, maybe another 4 or so.
So not to worry hun, what's yours is yours, get it all back in your pocket where it belongs.:D
Good luck hunni !

just wanted to drop a note to regular users of the internet and email - friend of mine was sent an email proporting to be from UPS with a consignment number (I've since had them saying Airmail/ Western Union / Fedex etc etc) as she was waiting for a package to be delivered she opened the attachment - it produced a nasty virus that you could only get rid of if you paid $40 to the company who had sent her the hoax email in the first place - if you're a regular receiver of packages (ie from Ebay) please be aware of this new type of scam0

Definitly going to get this started, i have claimed ppi back already from GE Money which was really easy, i was just worried about my bank account getting messed up as i stick to a tight budget every month so can afford for this to start going wrong there.0 -
