PPI Reclaiming discussion Part II

Hello , I was wondering if any one here can point me in the right direction, i have sent off MSE letters to Lloyds tsb for reclaiming PPI on my credit card. I recieved a letter back saying that they understood i had asked for a refund of my ppi premiums as i felt i was missold , (i was a single parent student when they gave me a regular credit card and i was not working and on benefits) and they refused saying that i had signed the original payment protection requirement and enclosed a copy for my reference. They did not enclose any such copy and said I should have raised the question before now as i have had plenty of opportunity to discuss premiums i could have contacted them. so i sent template letter two adjusted to my situation and got a speedy reply today within a week. It says they reviewed my records and i was sold PP cover on the phone and i must appreciate it wasnt possible to state all the details of the cover and exclusions, it says they enclosed a copy of the agreement dated 15th december 2004 signed by me, it says i must tick the box that says i want PP cover but there is already a pre crossed box by them marking that i want PP cover but they did it not me. It also says that it was sold before the FSA insurance conduct of business rules came in to play 14th january 2005. and that i should have raised any issue at the time that i felt rendered the policy unnecessary. There for there is no grounds to refund.
Do i reply or is it just done now ..they also have written FINAL RESPONSE In BIG letters across the top of the letter
Thanks anyone

It all depends on what type of policy, whether it lasts for only five years (the cover) but I will be paying for mine for the lifetime of my loan 30 years!!! So I think they have had quite a lot of interest - don't you!!!???
Yes got a claim with picture, single premium, 5 yr cover. And what I mean is if the loan has to go back to a figure without PPI who loses out? Not the insurance company as they got paid up front so it must be Picture. I don't mind a long a its not me!DS1 12/10/04

I have 3 PPI on Loans through Lloyds which I am chasing at the moment. The letter you got was a standard letter and I would take it further. There are lots of issues e.g you had to opt out of the PPI this is not seen as good practice. They should have made sure that you understood the PPI and given you all figures to show you how much you will pay back including interest etc.
I would download the form on this site for the FOS and then send them a courtesy copy.
Good luck:D:mad:0 -

You need to ring the FOS and ask if they members of the GISC and if so at what date and if your sale was on or after they were members then get a complaint number and ask for the complaint forms to be sent out to you.
Good luck and give us a shout if you need more help.
We have a complaint against GE Capital Bank/Laura Ashley and although it is for Credit card charges, FOS cannot deal with it because our claim goes back to 2005, however we have been passed onto the FLA (Finance & Leasing !!!) and they seem to be (so far) very efficientDEBT free:j0 -
sorry, not very good at this yet!
Re UK Loans Group - the address I got off Yell.com is:
145 Whiteladies Road, Clifton, Bristol BS8 2QB
I don't know if they're in liquidation or what but the tel no on Yell.com is not recognised and I can't seem to find any more updated information. I haven't actually dealt with them since 5 years ago +
Any advice would be gratefully received0 -

Do you have any paperwork - silly question if you haven't dealt with them for 5 years, but are they a limited co? Or are they underwritten by someone else?DEBT free:j0 -
Tribby - I had a look on various sites, and there doesn't seem to be anything about them!!! I wonder if you emailed FOS or FSA asking them how you can find out if they are trading still? have looked at companies house, but public only have access to a limited amount of info, and they are all Ltd companies - there must be a way of finding this sort of info out - someone else here might be able to help you when they sign on - good luckDEBT free:j0
