:o - I'm worried as I keep looking at the PPI successes and there seems to be only 50 pages or so, but this one goes on, and on and on!!!!!
I think its because of the waiting list for the FOS... Its getting to be nearer 12 months before claims are actually settled now. A lot of people on the success and failure thread take the money and run. Can't blame them.... :D

(This thread is actually slowwwwing down now too..)

I think you are right, my claims for credit card charges are going through FOS much quicker, probably about 4 weeks. These are probably easier to sort out, they just collate all the amounts claimed for each company on a spread sheet, pass it on and then the co. either agree or not, and it seems that they do agree. PPI is probably much more complicated - typical!!

  • I think FOS are snowed under, I have just had my mail, and a letter from FOS (I now recognise the postage stamp - how sad!!) Anyway, they are unable to deal with my claim, and are forwarding it on to the 'finance & Leasing Association' -

Firstly their reference doesn't tie up with anything I have with them - and I have no idea what it is for, and who are the FLA????? Have sent an email to assistant Team Manager, but got an email back saying she is out till Monday 1st sept - surely they cant take hols !!!(joke)

Seems to be a lot of people are saying that their adjudicators are on holidays. Perhaps they are fed up with people ringing and asking about their complaints.

The FLA (Finance and Leasing Association) had a code of practice to follow. When was your loan ppi. ???

  Is this for your Firstplus Loan of 2004. That is wrong of the FOS if it was as Firstplus were registered with the GISC in 2001.

No this I think is for credit card charges with GE capital/Laura Ashley - I have telephoned them and it seems this is what it is for, so I have to wait for the FLA to phone me!!!!

    Good morning all.;)

When one of my complaints were with the FOS last year, it was the case that when contacting them around this time of the year they do tend to be on holidays, I know the adjudicator that I had worked every other day, so for instance, Mon, Weds, and Fri, the following week, Tues and Thurs.;)

I do also recall though there is someone under them again like a underhand, and when you actually leave an email for your actual adjudicator, and if they are not available, there is an automated message and who to email or ring if you needed to.;)

But yep they are defo over-run with these complaints more-so this year than last year and I think it will get worse as the years go on.

Yes your right Marshallka........ , strange that, maybe it will be worth them getting back to them and telling them, because I do know of another member which is about another loan company, they had their complaint form returned, and the member double checked all their paperwork, contacted the FOS and mentioned about that company were a member of GISC, it was actually on the paperwork he also sent the FOS from the start, strange how they missed it.
They asked him to return the paperwork, checked through it and agreed, so they are continuing with the complaint now.

I assumed that the FOS would have known, and don't they have their own list to check this out ?

Just reading my local news online, as some of you will know I have been waiting for long overdue post, but this is a regular feature here of complaint, and came across a bit of a write up here:
    http://www.southwalesargus.co.uk/news/swanews/3629738.Lost_mail_payments_pass___40k/

Will have to get some letters prepared now - just in case (regarding some PPI issues).;)

Its really annoying when that happens. I wonder if my complaint about FIrstplus would have passed then as they never looked at the GISC thing and i thought that maybe as it was a complaint about unfair rebate that GISC did not come into it. My rebate date was 2003 and they were members of GISC in 2001.
