Capital One was fined by the FSA but i don't know that they had contacted all customers missold. I would write again. What sort of ppi was it?
Was it on a loan or credit card and when was it first applied.?

Good luck maxdp with your new provider, I have not got a clue with puters, I generally leave the techo side of things with the in law or my son, cos my hubby hasn't got a clue either........:D .

hi it wasn't section 5 on the Unfair Contract Terms I should have put Section 3 - General Terms & Conditions - Termination of Benefit & Cover on the Payment Protection Plan - it's the last paragraph which states ' If you settle your loan or cancel your policy before the end of this period you will receive a partial refund of your premium. This will not be proportional and may be substantally less than the amount originally paid.'

If that isn't an unfair contract term then I don't know what is !!!!

suspect it was before the ppi was before 15/01/05 - capital one were only fined for sales made after that date
