oping someone can help me Im new here so hoping for some advice.

I took out a loan with firstplus in 2006 which PPI was added, I complained and my complaint was upheld.

The loan was a total of: £120k including ppi which was added at the start of the loan, I was told this was essential.

They have offered me the following:

    1. A full refund of the insurance premium £18000 plus interest of £3500 to be applied to my loan account.

    2. A refund of PART of the monthly payments paid towards the insurance policy of £4400 (£136 a month) in a refund via cheque.

    3. A refund of £500 in a total amount of 8% interest on payments made directly via cheque.

Does this sound reasonible or should I be able to argue that I could get a full refund of the PPI directly via cheque?

    Thanks! Pixiedust xx
I had a look at your post on the other thread this morning. I am sure Tiggrae will be able to advise you better on this one and she will be on again so hang tight and lets hope she comes on later.:D

Nope hun, this was the one they sent yesterday, so I thought I would email them this afternoon as I wanted it confirmed that they had received my email sent yesterday along with the attachment copy of the letter that was sent to the director in July, the one that should have been invesigated by the director himself.
I will keep on though, so now at least they know they only have 7 days, even though I note he is confirming todays date and not that of yesterdays...... .

May need a hand what to write in the next email..... ;) .

(arh now I see what your asking lol, you mean did I send them another email today (complaint) ? well yes only to request the above lol, does that make any sense lol ?

HFC have been fined already and there is a class action against them, details below

What was the actual date the PPI was applied? Was it applied after the 1st 12 months in that it was December 2005??? If it was applied after 14th January, 2005 when the FSA took the reins on the PPI you have a good chance of going to the FOS with your complaint if they write back and say no can do.

I don't know how these interest free credit things work. Is the contract and PPI dated in December, 2004 or 2005???

If they applied the refund to your loan what would happen to the loan?? Would you have to have a new loan with them and also what about the APR?? Would that stay the same too. I would wait on this one and let our expert Tiggrae advise you. You don't want to do yourself short..

It does seem that a lot of these lenders are playing at the you owe me money, i owe you money and taking one from the other here. Some do refund in a cheque even when the loan is still active i think.

  • Eventually got my money back from Barclays Bank for PPI on two loans, not a huge amount total around £500.00 but as Tesco say every little helps and I work for Sainsburys so I probably shouldn't say that. Sorry boss. Still going after a few for missold PPI on behalf of others and hubby and I am not giving up.
Claimed back almost £4000 so far from HSBC for mis-sold PPI
£2083.00 + £242.00 8% interest from FirstPlus and lower monthly premiums:D Studio Cards paid off my account and gave me £125.00 in gift vouchers. £500.00 Barclays.
