  • I have been trying to reclaim money for a ppi i believe i was missold when i took out a mortgage in 2004.

I used the template and sent off my first letter, i recieved a reply within a week stating they where looking into it and would be intouch within the 8 weeks, but they never did.

I sent off the second letter giving them the 14 day deadline, and today i have recieved a reply.
They are saying they have been placed into administration and all staff made redundant, and are very sorry but can not deal with my complaint.

Does anybody believe i have a chance of taking this futher or could this be the end of my claim??

There is a link below to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme which is an option in cases like this one.

    http://www.fscs.org.uk/

There are certain key dates in which claims can be handled. Have a look the consumer bit and it will give you all the details.

    Hiya hun
Golly that's all I'm hearing, and Marshallka has already given you the link for the FSCS,(thanks hun);) .
I am in fact going through these myself due to a company that have recently dissolved gone into liquidation, this was sudden.

What was the name of the company ? maybe the directors have started up elsewhere, where this will be looked into.

I have added a few links the last few days here about "phoenix firms", if you get the chance to go back, have a browse, this will give you some idea of the whole issue.

So not to worry at this stage there may be a way of reclaiming as much as possible, if not through the company/liquidators, you can contact the FSCS, they will send you out an application form and explain about the whole procedures.;)

I have just received a letter from Barclays stating that they have been unable to resolve my complaint about mis-selling of PPI within the initial 8 week timescale. Their letter was very vague and they did not give a date as to when they thought they might be able to address the matter just that if I wasn't happy to contact the FSO. I phoned them to ask how long they thought it might take and they were just as off hand on the phone. My quesstion is shouldd I give them a few more weeks or call their bluff and contact the FSO, bearing in mind that it may then take several months to resolve. Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated.

Hi Barclays are reknown for treating customers like this.

Firstly may I suggest that you write to them giving them 7 days to reply (state date you would like reply by) if they do not respond you can report them to the Information Commissioner:D

It is no good you going to the FOS until they have given you a FINAL RESPONSE otherwise the FOS will not take it on until they have received that.

Try and correspond by letter then you have evidence of all communication.

    Good luck with them:eek:

    Hi
I received the same after sending two letters to Barclays. They advised I contact FSO if I wasn't happy, so I did. I have just received a letter from FSO saying they have received my letter and due to large volumes of enquiries they will provide me with a full response as soon as they can. Does this mean FSO will not look at it as I didn't get a final response from Barclays?

Regarding the above posts folks (Barclays), please do not let them fob you off, the letters you receive are just basic standard fob off's, we all more or less have these, as they hope this will put us off.

So keep going and I would give them 7 - 14 days max to respond to you and threaten that you WILL go forward to the ombudsman to sort all this out for you.;)

    Good luck !
