We are starting to see a change in the way the lenders and brokers are dealing with complaints. These companies know there are major delays at FOS and that you will eventually win, plus interest etc. So it seems they are offering less money if you want a cheque now and not in 6 months time!
I would wait and get the interest back from FOS. This is what the banks are doing with the bank charges claims too by the look of it.

Co-op have used with me that i should have been aware of this loss within 3 years.

I only realised what these policies were like just recently and certainly did not understand the actual cost of them. Who in their right mind, when already in debt, would actually opt for something that they could get for less than half the price elsewere, no-one. They sold them purely for the banks profits and certainly not for the interest of the client.

Single premium policies should be banned, they are not sold for anything other than big profits for the bankers.

LLoyds TSB have said no to dad! even though they paid out on the 1st one and this was a top up. Do they have to state in their letter that it is their final response?

Barclays are unable at this time to provide me with a response - 8 weeks is up! gonna wait another week, then phone them, then go to FOS, then they will have 2 comlaints from me for the same bank not supplying me with a full response within 8 weeks.
LTSB PPI - £770 ish for dad
LTSB PPI for dad - £1800 for dad
    Barclays PPI claim for self-£2204
Dads home insurance - reduced by £200 a year "WE DO NOT LIVE IN FLOOD AREA AND I DON'T SEE WHY WE SHOULD PAY FOR THOSE THAT DO - I WANT TO SPEAK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR"!

    No wins then yet.

I am ok, just messed up with my claim to FOS according to tiggrae, i have put a claim in for two seperate loans on the same form and should have done them seperate, going to ring them tomorrow. One was for unfair rebate on one loan and misselling on the other.

but at the time of applying for the loan we went in together and when they asked about earnings we told them it was only him working and the amount he earned etc.but the loan and ppi is in my name
actually it makes it worse, you told them you had no income to protect yet they 'sold' you a completely useless policy - what'll probably ask for is evidence you wern't working ( ie do you have anything from the tax office or DWP to show you weren't working that you could send a copy of with your letter of complaint ?)

Was one within a certain time limit and the other not then. Go to fos now about barclays. They have had time enough. I would sarah, you can still correspond with them even though you have made a complaint.

I think she meant to send a letter to Firstplus about not accepting their offer and tell them that you are going to FOS. Then you download the complaint form from FOS site, fill it in and send it with copies of the letters you have sent to and received from Firstplus about the misselling. I am a little confused as to whether she meant to send in a complaint yet to FOS or to send it to Firstplus for them to see that you are actually going to complain to FOS.

Link to complaint form here http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
send it to both - you might as well start your complaint with the FOS - if Firstplus pay you back what you want then just contact the FOS (after the money is in your bank) and tell them the claim has been settled

if not then at least you'll have started the claim with the FOS and then let them deal with it !!
