No Di, this is when the tax credits first came out and people did not know of them so we can claim for these years. Its only worth about £520 per year for one child regardless of if you have two to twenty kids but to claim you have to submit some forms to them before a certain time limit. I don't owe them anything, they owe it to me. If you want info on it let me know. It should have been applied to the higher earners tax code and it was not.

Arh got what ya saying , I know what you mean now hun and my sister is in exactly the same situation as you, they still owe her and she is still waiting.

Not sure how this works but I have not worked for a good few years, only my hubby because I have 2 sons but one with special needs, so not sure if this would make any difference and always assumed my hubby was having the higer earners tax code, but yep some info will not go amiss, if it doesn't come in for me it will for my sister, thanks hun.;)

make sure they are regulated by the ministry of justice, www.claimsregulation.gov.uk but if they haven't heard of the fscs then they may not know all the ins and outs of reclaiming PPI - and for anyone who's been on here long enough to know it's sometimes not that easy !!!

Yes they are regulated but i am not confident they will be able to see the whole process through. Will wait and see what reply I get from picture to start with. Thanks all for your help.

  • Hey.. Im wondering if anybody can help me at all. I have 2 credit cards and the total balance is £700 for both combined.. these accounts have been passed to debt reclaim companies.. who are obviously pestering me for payments!. I have missed more than several payments on both of these credit cards and therefore it has tarnished my credit profile. I do have a loan aswell but i have kept up with all payments on this and will continue to do so. I dont earn enough money to pay these debt companies of in full. Or even over the course of a few months or so.. as they will continue t add on interest. Therefore after thinking about my situation carefully i feel if i could get a £1000 loan. To pay both credit cards and the small overdraft i have off.. then i can pay back over 12 months the £1000 borrowed. So that then after the year is up i will only have my loan left to pay. I live with my Step-Dad who cant help me.. and also other family and friends cant either. I feel like im stuck in a rut that will never pass.. Does anybody know of any specific loan company that will be give the loan amount i need without dragging out proceeding's.. somebody that has used them before ??.. please any views advice or anything to help me would be highly appreciated ... Thankyou

    Thanks Di,

The letter that I've sent so far have used the templates from this site and the mis-selling is based on the single premium & only valid for five years criteria.

I think I'll send them one more letter back giving them the chance increase their offer and then I'll go to the FOS.

Basically I would be looking for a figure neaer to 10k for my Dad to be in the same position as he would be if hadn't got the PPI (reading previous posts this is what we could hope for if going to fos plus of course interest).

Thanks again and I'll keep you posted when we hear back

    Hi Spoll
Reading your post again and then reading Tiggrae's and as you have already sent the template letter, I would also now say forget writing back to the loan company and get a complaint form filled in from the FOS website, sorry to be a right pain here but to get it done quicker I would do just that.
The amount in the mis sellng the FOS would want the loan company to put it right as if the PPI were not taken and also award an Extra 8% on top which is what a court would award.
Your parents should receive all this back in a cheque payment as the loan is settled.;)

Go for the FOS now hun and good luck.

Hi Mike and sorry to hear of your situation.

Just an idea really but can an arrangement be made for the repayments etc or maybe the citizens advice could arrange this for you ?

Here I do not really know what to recommend and maybe someone else will be able to advise you here on this actual debt issue.;)

Not certain if there is another thread here for this matter, as this one here is for PPI reclaiming, unless you believe you were mis sold on these at all.

Check out one of the other threads on this site here and maybe there will be someone in the same situation as yourself where the advice will be there for you.

I wish you luck with this and hope it resolves.;)

If FOS are handling it now and you have been assigned an adjudicator then it should not be long now. If Laini comes on later she will tell you how long after this time usually or Di. You really should let FOS do it now.
Hi thanx for responding, no its not with an adudicator as yet, its with the investigation team, waiting for it be given to an adjudicator, last week they only just sent corresspondenc (a spreadsheet) to halifax/BOS asking them if there is any other information that they wish to add or provide, so i was told today its like a another 6 - 8 weeks b4 it gets to adjudicator, it seems ages, my claim has been opened on their system from the 17 january 08

    any thoughts?

    Hi Busta.

With mine I sent copies of bank statements and anything that proved hardship, they will consider the fast tracking for you.;)
Letter-wise just explain in your own words about the financial difficulties and stress/inconvenience this has caused you and your family as it is a financial strain where you find it difficult to make ends meet, if this is what is your problem here you can add that.;)

    Good luck.
