Wow thanks for the quick reply -
The load was taken with Firstplus in Feb 2006 (over term of 25yrs) and settled Oct 06 (I know!!).
I can't get my head around how much they 'owe' but the settlement fig was 49k.
Thanks0 -
hi thinking of doing that myself, due to financial hardship, is there any standard letters to send?0

Hiya hun and thank you.;)
I'm getting there now and feeling more at ease today.
Going from what I have read on your case hun you have every chance of it being upheld.;) Fingers crossed for you.
I have added a post above for you about the "fast track", give it a go hun you have nothing to lose, as most of us here are going through this and by providing evidence and an explanation should help the FOS decide.;)

Thanks for replying, have been reading your posts and with all that you have going on it is kind of you to do so.
My loan is with picture taken out May 2005 and topped up in October 2006.
Will try and find out more about the claim company.0 -

Good luck with all these then hun.;)
There is a website that I thought I added on here before about overpayments of tax credits, if it's not your fault hun you can argue not to pay this back.
Do you want me to post you the website for this tax credits overpayments ?
You may have already come across this somewhere but its a good site and I know it has helped loads.;)
I was caught in that overpayments web and put them straight, I know these can be difficult and do not pay back more than you can afford.;)
Let me know if you want me to post the website, if so by post or PM.
Cheers

Good luck, well I would definately contact the FSCS, as I'm sure you would also be in the position to have this investigated by these.
I started by emailing them and hubby thought he would ring them as a quicker method, they said to let them know in writing by post or email about the company that went into liquidation, any evidence to support this and details about the complaint.
And then they replied to the email yesterday to say the same thing.;)
What I done was scan all the documents I have to my computer, sent these off by attachment with an explaination as what Singlep suggested, and also help from Sarah etc from here, and did not end up going into such details but maybe about 3 paragraphs.
Today they then got back to me within an hour of me sending this and said they investigated to be sure we were eligible etc and confirmed we were, where a form will be posted out, unfortunately they do not send forms by electronic means as I had requested this by email afterwards, and there is no guarantee of when we will receive the form but its a way forward and they will still review this no matter when the form arrives.;)
Good luck and please contact them.

No prbs, we love to help.;)
Right okay hun, so a reclaim letter has already been sent to them and the offer was very low !
I would write back and use the template letter on this site to tell them that you believe this was mis sold, call it a start again letter, if you look above in the red box it states 'reclaim £1,000's check out the list of mis selling and see what is what with your parents, then there is a link for a template, get it done send it off by recorded post and complain.
We had to check on the date to make sure that it was elgible for the finanical ombudsman service if you need to do this.
I see you have acted on the rebate but not the mis selling part, so do a complaint letter and complain it was mis sold.
This was covered by the FSA so that is cool.;)
Any probs give us a yell anytime.;)

Have sent an email, were they asking for evidence to back up that the company were in receivership?
Hi hun
You should get a reply by next Monday now from the FSCS.;)
I did actually scan my letter from the liquidators and sent it as an attachment to them but as long as you let them know the name of the company that went into receivership they will and should check this out for themselves.;)
Good luck.

which other financial authority deals with ppi claims? could the FSA help?
tiggrae, you have suggested fileing a complaint(?) under 1967 misprepresentation act for negligent misprepresentation- how do i do that? is this with the small claims court?
many thanks guys.0
