Once again looking for advice, had a loan with future in 2003 until 2006, they weren't authorised until 2004.
However they are part of citigroup who were authorised in 2001, does this make a difference?

You should be okay then hun on the citigroup, if mis sold then get that reclaim letter sent.;)
However, the older one still try, because one of mine was 2003 and they refunded me with no problem.

    Hi there Busta

I would still try to reclaim on any mis sold PPI no matter what year, as I still had successs with one of mine which was sold to me in 2003 who were not regulated, but not all companies were, the difference is, if firms were regulated and no success from the loan company you are then eligible to forward to the FOS who will investigate further but not if they were not regulated by either GISC or FSA.;)

Does that make any sense hun ?

ok well this is the response from halifax regarding the claims:
1 - Halifax adhered to the ABI (association of British insures)
2- Halifax subscribed to the a Voluntary code brought in under the General insurance standards council from 2001
3 - this sale toook place under the FSA

I would definately try to reclaim on these anyway.;) Seems to have been covered where Gisc comes in because this was a choice for the company to have this, where the FSA came in from these and to my knowledge all finance companies had to be covered by the FSA as from Jan 2005.

I did come across some information a little while ago on ABI, will check it out when I have five mins on Google search engine.;)

  • Evening all.

I've received a letter from HBOS today, giving a breakdown of the PPI refund.

Is it true that they should put you back in the position you'd be in if the PPI wasn't front-loaded to your loan?

(ie refund the chunk that was put on the front of the loan?)

If thats the case, they may have got their figures wrong, as they have offered to refund the premiums I've paid so far.

Its not to be sniffed at, but I'm not sure they are doing it properly.

    Any advice please?

    Thanks!
LBM November 2005: approx £32K
    Current debt: approx £12K :T
Getting there one day at a time ;)

Hi there, from my experience if this was mis-sold then yes they are supposed to put you back in the position as if you did not have the PPI, plus 8% of what a court would award on top.

I would post the breakdown on here and maybe M Colak, Tiggrae or so could check these out for you just to make sure.;)

As Di says, wait for tiggrae to do a working for you. They are only going to pay you a small proportion of what you have paid (with interest) and you should pursue for the full amount and also 8% per annum (if applicable). They are accepting that they have done something wrong to make this offer in the first place. Hang on and someone will be along i am sure to help.

Also if the loan for the ppi was attached to the loan you have then they will have to reschedule this and you don't want to be ripped off again.
