Can i ask anyone out there DI(lol) or any other expert. i did write to halifax about the credit card and being charged PPI as i never realised i was paying for this, so i quickly cancelled it and wrote to halifax, but they refused my claim, anyhow i failed to put this in the other claims i have with the FOS (Loans & mortgage ppi) ive gone past the 6 month mark of bringing it to their attention. DO you think the FOS will pick this up through their investigations
Hi there Busta, I apologise for the delay in getting back to you.;)
The FOS may pick up on this but if you have a genuine enough reason for this then I imagine it should be okay.;)
It could have been that you were awaiting further correspondence or documents for you to investigate further or maybe you mis read and overlooked the deadline scale for this.
I have heard that others have been in the same situation and have been okay.;)
Try to not worry, we will come to that if we have to, fingers crossed it will all now be straight forward.
Keep us posted hun and good luck.;)

Hi,
I was looking for some help on reclaiming PPI with my case.
When I first bought my flat in Oct 2004, I stupidly decided that I would get some windows and doors through Zenith windows (which I didn't actually realise at the time the windows wer covered by the stupid council).
Anyway, I was sold a 'home improvement loan' by the sales rep from Zenith windows who told me I had to have the PPI, even though I told him I would not need it as I have my own insurance policies AND I could not possibly be made unemployed due to my line of work. The paperwork and booklets he gave me all tell me it was optional, however, he insisted that my own insurance policies would not cover the loan.
The loan is with Firstplus on a really rubbish APR and to date I have only paid off £1200ish off the original 5k loan + 700 PPI.
The PPI was also added onto the loan repayments so I am paying this out over the 10 years and only covered for 5?
So, please could somebody help me in wording the last portion of the sample letter?
I am finally clearing up most of my major loans and was hoping to tackle this one next and pay a chunk of it with the PPI I could potentially get back.

Hiya - new to the forum.
I've had a loan out for 7 years, which has been renewed once. On inititially taking out the loan and on the renewal I chose the PPI offered me by the bank (was a lrge loan and seemd sensible). This was done in the branch on both occasions. However, the bank have recently contacted me to say they can save me money on the cover. I've been in to see them and have been told that the coverI have been paying for the last seven years was actually very high as it is a 'one size fits all' policy where everyone will pay the same regardless of age, employment status, health etc.
I did choose to take cover, but this has never been brought to my attention before. They are now telling me that other policies may be more appropriate... (I'm feeling like I've been paying a fortune to insure a metro because veryone else is driving a merc!) Am I right to try and reclaim, even though I did choose to take out the policy?0 -

Welcome to you!
Yep, we're all in this together fighting the ppi etc rip-offs... good luck and do post again, the people on here are amazing and ever so helpful."onwards & upwards"0 -
I have been contacted by a company called 7 marketing in Swansea who say that they are regulated by the Ministry of Justice (I checked, they are, I think) and that any loans taken out from 2001 and 2007 where PPI was added to the loan are retrievable by them on my behalf for a one off payment of £79.99.
Because of the information I wasn't given by Lloyds i.e. that the advisor would receive commission and also that interest would be charged on the PPI as well as the loan and I wasn't asked about any medical conditions, they had a strong case and could not only get back the PPI but have the loan repaid in full.
Has anyone else heard of this??0 -
