As a trade body, not regulator, AFB cannot help but they would not want bad publicity. My other comments related to Picture. The Picture ceo was chairman of AFB and has now resigned. At least FPlus are retaining some staff for complaints etc.0

Hi
I'm new and after a bit of advice. I've recently been looking at ways on cutting back on my spending and came across this forum. I was wondering if somebody could advise on if I would possibly have a chance at reclaiming PPI.
In August 2004 I took out a £15,000 loan with Natwest over 4 years. This loan was to consolidate my Natwest debt (car loan, overdraft and credit card). At the time I was told I must take out PPI on the loan as the loan that was part of the consolidation already had PPI and therefore if I wanted to include it in my consolidation loan PPI was madatory. Does anybody know if this is the case? I applied for the loan over the telephone so I have no proof of this, would the fact I have no proof matter?
Also checking through my statements I notice I'm paying PPI on 2 of my catalogue bills, Simply Be and Naturally Close, I didn't even realise I was paying this (I know I should check my bills more closely!) do you know if anybody has successfully made a complaint against catalogue companies?
Thanks

I would pursue your claim to natwest for both the ppi's if you did not want or need them. Was it a single premium? (where it was a loan on top of your loan so you would be paying interest on this for all the loan period)
Yes I agree with Marshallka, and there's no harm in trying.;)
Check through all your paperwork, and like what Marshallka asked, check the terms and conditions, but as there have been so much mis selling with this ppi product for many years or so, it wouldn't surprise me if it were optional and it was just added.
If you do not have all the paperwork, you could try requesting to see if the bank can send you any copies free of charge to save spending on a Subject access request, worth a try hun.;)

Thx hun, just realised now.;)
Will try to find the emails I've received from these companies, stating they are unable to help, annoying I think !:rolleyes:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks for the advice. I'll send a letter to Natwest today.0
