If anyone really wants to read about "non advised sales" go to FSA website>Handbook>ICOBS. Better to recover a record of the telesale and complain if you think they gave you advice. If at any time they suggested you take out the policy, that is advice, and you have got them! A non advised sale only allows them to provide information. FOS here we come.

Thank you Singlep, this is very useful, will check this out.;)

I think its definitely worth a shot at Norton (I hadn't thought of that, doh!).

I'll get Dad to sign another cheque :D his chequebook hasn't seen this much activity in ages :D

Actually, on the subject of cheques - Endeavour insisted on two £10 SAR fees as the loan was in the joint names of both parents

Is that normal for joint loans?

Endeavour are based in Bracknell, and I'm in North Hampshire - about 25 miles if that. I should go and be loud and Welsh on their doorstep :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Both of your parents can sign the one sar. Its enough for everyone else.
ps Di - I'd definitely put in a complaint about the comments on your SAR. Really unprofessional

Both your parents can sign the one SAR. Its enough for everyone else. They are just trying to get another tenner out of you.

Fistplus are implying it was advised by Wilmslow/Freedom, my broker (yeah right) and then Bespoke (my new broker) are implying it was non advised. I only have documented proof of this where Firstplus say it was advised by wilmslow. I just know that it was on the agreement and we did not want it. I then rang firstplus about it and was told that it was a condition of the loan. At the application there were i/we boxes about reading stuff to do with the loan and we left them blank as we did not want it. Bespoke said in one letter that they provided clear documents and comprehensive information about the ppi and then in another that is non advised. I have to agree with that as we did not receive any documents at the start of the application and when firstplus put it on the loan they then said that the documents were supplied by Freedom. I then argue numerous times about not having any about it being 5 years, front loaded and all the rest and they keep saying that i did get them from the broker.

Both say you signed and that is that.

Laini try these hun:

info@nemoloans.co.uk
complaints@nemoloans.co.uk

Think the top one is correct hun, but have you any names of the person from nemo ?
If I come across any more I will let ya know.;)

You can add their names, don't forget the dot between the first and surname, then @nemoloans.co.uk

Don't know if you know though hun, which I think is sooo wrong of these, they have blocked both me and hubby from emailing them since we received our SAR.......I wonder why   .

Good luck.
xxx

If they have blocked your emails, you should sign up for another email address online, like yahoo or gmail and send from a different email address. It's outrageous that they block your correspondence, further evidence of their guilt!

Thanks Anne-Jade.

Throughout the claim before we won, this case was with the FOS, so we did get in touch with these/nemo by leaving email messages, did keep the FOS aware of this, because when we did try ringing we would get told someone will get back to us but this never happened.

When receiving the SAR last month - something I wished I had requested a lot earlier, I could not believe the comments they left on these, such as 'hasn't anything been done about these people yet' we are still receiving emails !!!!! please get them stopped !!!!

But its a good idea to set up a new email addy, cheers hun.;)

If suggesting i take this out means ticking the box on the application (not us) then was that advised. We did not tick it, we left it blank and then we left blank the I/we have read and understood boxes as well. These are still blank but the broker (as i think they were the broker and well they know it) ticked it and sent it off. Is that advised or non advised.

We never asked for any ppi.

Non-advised sales were first introduced by the FSA in Jan 2005 in the ICOB rules (now ICOBS) Insurance Conduct Of Business. They did not exist prior to then.

Yes I see your point Singlep, for instance over the years before 2005 I have had credit where I was told I had to accept the insurance to be accepted which I do remember they say they "recommend" this product, yet it was not explained exclusion/exemption wise.
On my lloyds tsb credit card I do remember ticking this but was told it was part of the agreement and to be accepted, I was a stay at home mum.

So where Bespoke state in their letter that it was a non advised sale where do i stand now???

Was it ok to do non advised sales prior to this??

Mine was in the year 2000?

This is definately a set up here. I think Firstplus are involved.

E-loan the brokers of nemo have received my SAR request, because the information of the SAR that Nemo sent me was only that of the loan advance/ppi, even though some of the broker paperwork was included but not a lot, and although a telephone disc was enclosed also of the loan advance sale we do really need the recordings from e-loan the brokers when first sold, this was in DEC 2005, the only part of the insurance that was explained to my husband was that after 5 years he will recieve a lump sum if he does not make a claim in the first 5 years, we did never receive a quote without insurance, and I would take it this would be an 'advised' sale.??
These were also regulated by the FSA.
Also he has a permanent back condition due to an accident at work in early 2000.
