Done and dusted. Just a rap on the wrist i presume??? The 1998 rules came in in march 2000 but were the rules about processing data while unregistered still the same. I have asked on the ICO and am waiting to a reply.

    Marshallka + tiggrae,

Thought i would give you an update about Barclays Bank.

They are only giving me back £622.74 for the first Loan,

2nd loan they credited £999.82 the remainder from the first loan (hope all this makes sense guys. this was to lower the 2nd loan apparently, that is what she told me....

They have restructured the loan, the existing ppi 3808.20 and been credited the the new loan of £8,400.00 term 60months..

Tiggrae i mentioned about your figures she didn't say anything..

Not too sure if they are playing ball or just been favourable to the banks...

Any ideas, shall i still take it up with F.O.

    thanks for all your help.

    Debt-free and Proud!

    Evening everyone,
Could you good people please take a look at my letter to loans.co.uk regarding mis-selling of PPI, and tell me if anything needs adding or removing

    Dear Sir or Madam,

    Re: Account number: XXXXXXXX
I purchased the above policy from you in June 2003 but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy for the following reasons:

This is due to the fact that you have been fined by the FSA for failing to treat your customers fairly when selling Payment Protection Insurance and I do not believe that my policy was sold in my best interests. Copy of the FSA statement enclosed

This is due to the fact that I paid a single premium for my policy but did not see it through to the end of it’s initial term after paying back my loan earlier than planned on the 17th January 2005

Also the PPI only covered the first five years of the loan, but was calculated into the full term of the loan of 300 months, thus accruing extra interest and costs.

The PPI would only pay a maximum of 12 monthly payments in the case of unemployment/sickness or hospitalization. With a maximum payment per installment of £73.09, whereas 11 of my original payments were for over the stated maximum amount

Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.

I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.

    Yours faithfully,

Thanks in advance for your help

Just come off the phone to Freedom and they say that they are looking into my complaint still. I rang them about the data protection thing and he said that as they were in Gibraltar then perhaps they did not need to be registered. I told him i had already queried that with the ICO and if the data was processed here then they would most probably need to be registered. I just wanted to raise another complaint. He told me that as yet they could not see that they had done anything wrong and as i had raised so many issues then it would take time to look into. Yeah right. I felt a little like this is a smoke screen again until they know what FOS is doing about Firstplus. I did say i will not be going away even if they refuse me anything and that i would proceed with court.

Wait for Tiggrae to reply as this sounds fishy to me. She did you some figures and they are nothing like these. I would hang around before accepting.

sounds ok to me and as they have already been fined for misselling then that says to me that your claim has a good chance of being honoured. Tiggrae is the expert though.

Should I expect any sort of confirmation to my complaint to the ICO as it's been a few weeks and haven't heard a thing - they did receive it?

    Hi
It took them two months to acknowledge a complaint I put in. After a few weeks I rang them and asked if they had received it which they had, but so many complaints, it is taking them ages to work through them.

I would suggest you give them a ring just to check they have received it.
