Hi has anyone tried to claimPPI from Halifax, Loans.co.uk, Scottish London or Capital One Loans if they have how are you getting on. Have you had to tke it to ombudsman or court?

Has any-one else had reply from Ocean saying that they have recording and I was told PPI was optional on recording and that I tick box on internet opting to have PPI, I can't remember if I did. I know I would not have had it had I have known it was optional as I work in job that pays me when I am sick and I have no redundacy policy.
I have 2 PPI claims all being dealt with by FOS could do with a win. I also have 1 PPI claim with FSCS because company gone bankrupt.
I have claim for bank charges on-hold for 3year

    Good-luck all

hi - yes had dealings with them all expect Scottish London, none will pay up and depending on when you took out the loans and which company it is (ie all but the Halifax were not under the jurisdiction of the Financial Ombudsman until 15.01.05) you'll either be able to go to the Ombudsman or have to start proceedings as they don't pay up without a fight

it's 10% + VAT remember - I think you need to email and tell them your circumstances (ie GE and already gone to the FOS) also, ask them whether they would provide you with court representation at no extra cost

When I originaly sent an enquiry email this is the reply I got from them. "Yes we can help because if the FOS cannot take the claim on then we can refer the case to the FLA. Financial Leasing Association. We have claims pending there so it is worth a shot. We offer a no win no fee 10% inclusive of VAT service. We do not charge a penny if we do not get you anything back regardless of how much work we have done. No hidden charges and no suprises.
I was then advised to complete the attached forms they sent.
Other firms said they wouldn't be able to help. What worried me was they said to complete the forms but don't seem to want any of the paperwork that has so far been sent between myself and GE or copies of the original agreement etc.
You are being such a big help THANKS again
    Jill

    The solution is limited.

Find a company that will take the case on with a no win no fee that does not take anything from their claim.

Look to find a solicitor that will do the same.

Clearly the size of the claim will determine the options as it may not be possible or worthwhile for a company to take it on.

Homer how would the first option work? Surely they would have to pay a fee if the company did all the work and won. I'd be happy to pay £500 out of £5,000 rather than go through the procedure myself, not knowing what I was doing.

I work for a solicitors and they charge upwards of £140 per hour plus they charge for every letter they send and receive and each incoming and outgoing phonecall and actually everytime they even look at the file so it would cost more to do it that way.

Some people just don't have the confidence or even the time to do it for themselves.

Laini, the person i was dealing with at some point in firstplus was named as the same surname (different 1st name) as someone who is being searched in the american company. This is only a few weeks ago (11th May, 2008) so i wonder if anything will happen to this company here.(they had links) It is scary stuff really to think what was happening within a company that is the sister company of the one we are dealing with.

I really hope you get your money asap now.
