PPI Reclaiming discussion Part II

Unforunately they are still around! The balance of the card is about £1300 and the PPI is about £1100 worth. So, if the FOS deem it to be miss-sold, then it could be a very good result for me financially (i.e. I could get rid of that card by Xmas!).Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

Hi marshallka :A ,
They were £368.46 per month.
Linda2604
They have not done this and don't know how they have worked it out.
If your orginal loan was 240 months and repayments were £368.46 then the total above would have been the loan total and you would have this included in the settlement statement...
Don't know what they have done here. totally confusing...

A little bit of info about keeping documents here and how long we shoud keep each document for
http://cherylmillerville.com/blog/?p=180
Now on here it says about insurance policies
Insurance policies (auto, homeowners, liability)
As long as the statute of limitations runs in the event of late claims
This must mean business's have to keep these too for this long in the event of late claims..
Any input welcome...0 -

May I ask how long ago this was hun that you had settled this ?
If in the last 6 years, you could request a written breakdown free of charge, they should post this to you within days, you will know then how they broke this down.
If they have not actually supplied you with an explanation within any of your paperwork I would definately request for this.;)
I do have some figures but to be honest it didn't mean too much to me (no actual sums or anything just amounts and it says it was calculated using Rule of 78 in accordance with the Consumer Credit Rebate on Early Settlement Regulations 1983,and some other stuff about what rules apply etc) and I just paid what they said. It was in April 2005.0 -

Thanks hun
Well if they are unclear, it maybe worth asking if they can send you a written full explanation through the post.;)
Meanwhile if you have not added these on here yet, maybe if you add what you have of them, they will get checked which may give you some idea.
Marshallka worked out mine for me.;)
Please remind me, who was this with ?
I settled mine in Nov 2005, it was a loan for 25 years taken out July 2004, settled as you can see many years earlier. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
marshallka wrote: »Left a reply to your loan settlement in the reply before but this cannot be worked out as they have completely different figures on the interest rebates etc. If this whole loan had been paid with the interest it would of cost you £88430 and these should have been the figures that were quoted in the settlement less whatever rebates were given..
They have not done this and don't know how they have worked it out.

Sorry
That's okay.
It's a mystery to me too, but there is still a big gap between the PPI I had to pay out and the rebate they gave me, so the letter's still going in the post! Will let you know how I get on with this and the First Plus one I put in.:beer:0
