    Update of school.

The head of year has made an appointment for those bullies parents in the morning, he then apologies, and said he hopes to see my son back tomorrow, hubby says there is no chance at present, until its all resolved and something must be done to prevent this bullying from happening over and over again, hubby also told them its logged with police, doctors and the lea.

The LEA contacted me to wish my son well and they are supposed to be getting back to arrange a meeting (so the police were quick getting back then)........so just watch this space.....:D , thanks again folks.;)

(sorry not PPI related folks, but I know you would like to know the outcome of this), thanks again for your well wishes.

  • First of all this is our First post, but my wife and i are no stranger to the site and we have certainly saved alof of our cash due to this fantastic site.

my point for this PPI forum is the following

I took a car loan out with GE Money via Carcraft in Sheffield in 2006 august.
If anyone has been to said car dealer they are extremely pushy, but we needed a car and settled on an Astra.
They sorted out all finance there and then but the finance guy was very pushy and from what we realise now very descreet about the insurance on the loan.

    details as follows

    Cash Loan
    Insurance Loan
    Total
    Amount Of Loan
    8495
    1795
    10290
    Total Amount To Pay----14459.17
    3055.23
    17514.40
    Payable by 60 Monthly
    Payments consisting of
    First payment
    361.17
    76.32
    437.49
    58 payments of
    216.70
    45.79
    262.49
    final payment
    291.00
    61.49
    352.49

from the above i assume i did not need the insurance premium added but until recently, because of this website, we did ot realise this.

we have recently settled the full amount by switching to a better loan with our bank account, so we got a little of the balance off.

i hope some one out there can shed a positive light on this, i.e can we claim?

ive got a letter waiting to go as soon as possible if we have a claim.

    thanks in advance

p.s also is my claim against Carcraft or GE Money? i was told to ask this

I will re-read this post when I come back, meanwhile I am sure you will get a response to this, and please check this link out here for reclaiming and there is also a template letter on that link.
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

Get your letters in to all you believe mis sold you and post by recorded post, use the template to help you through this, add as much info as possible.
They have 8 weeks to respond to you.

You may have to send in another letter for them to reconsider if unsuccessful on the first one.
But not to worry, keep fighting these.;)

    Catch you later.

  • I have loan with tesco have PPi with it but cannot remember if I ticked the box, it says it covers me for death, sickness, accident or unemployment.
My worry is this, is it worth me cancelling it because I am self employed and risk the death, sickness or accident(in the small print it does say you can cancel and any premiums paid will be rebated and used to reduce the loan amount] or carry on paying just in case.

Are you saying this was missold to you. If you are worried about whether this covers you sometimes it will cover for self employment as long as you are paying class 2 NI contributions I think. Your own t&c's will confirm this. If it does not cover self employment and you thought it did and was not asked about it at the time then you may have been missold. Even if you cancel this now you are very unlikely to get a large rebate against this.

Was this a single premium insurance in which it was added to your loan and also did it cover the full term of the loan too.?#

Also when was this taken out???

If you were sold this without being asked if your like this PPI then you have been missold. You make your complaint against the company (ie Carcraft) that sold the PPI to you. Di has written a reply as to the template letter to get sent in and also add/delete as many reasons as are applicable to your sale. You then give them 8 weeks for a full and final response to this after which time you can then take your complaint to the FOS. As this was taken out in 2006 the FSA held the reins for the sale of insurance and they had lots of rules about these sales and most complaints taken to the FOS are upheld.

Send everything recorded delivery and let us know how you get on.

If you need any more help then just shout away.

    Good luck

    Hello there Redhart.

The decision is yours to cancel, if you think this would not cover you I would cancel.

Have you the agreement for this ?
If not I would request for this, contact them and if they do not supply this free of charge I think they may charge you a £1 for this.

However, sent a letter to reclaim this and they may supply this as their evidence that you have ticked this, but do not worry if you have, it does not mean that they were right and you were wrong, most of us were caught in this trap.

If they did not explain anything of this product to you then you still have a good case anyway.;)
    Check this link out here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

This should help you through your letter, you will see a list of mis selling reasons, there is also a template reclaim letter on the link, use that to guide you.

They have 8 weeks to respond, if unsuccessful, another letter can be sent for them to reconsider and take to the financial ombudsman service if it comes to it, but we will work on that one if we have to, with a bit of luck you will be successful at the first stages.

Fingers crossed and please post by recorded post, and let us know, so we can take this complaint to the following stage.;)
