Thanks for the reply. Yes that's the one. Doesnt look too good does it? I wonder if the court knows there isnt a chance of me getting my ppi back? What do you think?

Looks like they are still trading though but just not selling mortgages. I will be back on later. Just popping out but try to help you then. I can't see why you would not be able to claim here. I will check them on companies house in a while and if they are not "dissolved" then there should be no problem here.

    Good morning everyone.

    Hope everyone is well.

I have had my letter from barclays regarding my refund for ppi.

The stupid people have paid the money into an account that has had 83p in it for about 10 years.

i dont have a card for it or anything.

I didnt even have the loan through this account.

I'm guessing they have delibrately done this to cause me inconvenience.

Off down to the bank in about half an hour armed with my driving licence, passport and their very nice letter to see what I can do.

They aint going to beat me i will re-report them to who ever i need to if they dont play ball.

So although very good news a double edged sword cos of the hassle they seem to be delibrately causing.

Well I went down to the bank and got a very helpful young lady.

She transferred money there and then and I drew it straight out and put it into my nationwide account.

She was really nice and asked if it was for bank charges and I told her no it was for ppi insurance.

she had a massive smile on her face and laughed out loud when I told her they werent as good as barclaycard who paid out with out having to go to ombudsman.

She said she heard loads of stories where some people get a payout straight away and others have to go to ombudsman.

She said she thinks its the luck of the draw.

But hey ho. thats me £500 better off than I was yesterday.

Cme on FOS get that ocean finance ppi, barclaycard ppi and capital one ppi sorted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to everyone for help and advice so far

    Hi Everyone

I have done all the letters to London Mortgage Company. They offered me the ppi back but not the interest so I refused. Did the N1 claim form but the court never sent me a copy back never sent me the AQ. I rang the court a dozen times for the AQ. In the end I downloaded my own.Still nothing about a court date. In the end the time was up for LMC on the 11th June rang the court to make sure and LMC had been allowed more time to send in their AQ. All in all it has been going on since March. N1 since May. I have written to the court and rang on several occasions. All they say it is either with the judge for directions or they havent type up the paperwork. I was advised by another forum to send off my request for judgement form which I did two weeks ago but still nothing. I am sure LMC doesnt exist anymore so it has all been a huge waste of time and energy. The courts couldnt care less. Of course if it was the other way round and someone was after me for money the speed would be quite frightening that the courts would act!!

    Hi hun
Right okay, hmmmm...... , not certain about this one, but with the PPI that is good they have offered this back, but yes the interest would be good too.

Anyways, I do hope this gets sorted out and just give them your best shot, you will not know until you try.:D

I will keep it all crossed for you.;)

Oops sorry Marshallka did not see your post, you beaten me, but this one I am baffled lol.

  • Hi
Not sure if my question may already have been answered. If so, my apologies.

My mortgage is with Abbey National and we have payment protection with them. We have had our mortgage since 1998. We were told that we had to have this insurance to have the mortgage. We also had to have life assurance (I think thats what it is), to cover the payments if one of us died. We changed this one, but still currently pay Payment Protection to Abbey. Am I able to claim some of this back? or as I changed the other one, would they think that I now realise I can shop around and therefore it is too late to claim against them?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi all

So I've seen the questionnaire Abbey has sent me (I posted a few days ago saying that's what they planned to do). I've seen a few people saying these shouldn't be filled in, so this is the first paragraph of my response. What do you think?

Thank you for your letter dated October 14 regarding my policy (no. xxxxxxxx). I have enclosed the questionnaire uncompleted as you would already have this information had the Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) been sold to me correctly. I fail to see how completing a questionnaire with questions you should have already asked is ‘very important’ when assessing my complaint, as you did not view it as such when adding the cost of the insurance to my personal loan.

Abbey's also asked me to enclose any loan documentation, so this is my response to that:

'I have also, as requested, enclosed my loan documentation, highlighting areas which indicate the PPI is compulsory. You will also notice there is no information to inform me that I was able to arrange my own protection.'

I've basically highlighted (with a flourescent pen) statements such as ' to go ahead with the loan, tick the box indicating you wish to purchace PPI...' and 'total you MUST pay for PPI' on the loan agreement. Before I pop it in the post box, do you think this is ok?

    Cheers,

    Ali

Was this income protection or payment protection in which it was a lump sum in the form of a loan or just a monthly payment that you can stop at anytime??
