  • Hi, Just wondering if anyone can help with my query?! I have a loan with A&L and have PPI as it was implied that my application was less likely to be approved if I didn't. Unfortunately I am now in arrears (which is being dealt with). Anyway I rang to cancel my PPI and was told that as I was in arrears I couldn't cancel it, however as I am in arrears my PPI is invalid anyway!! Where do I stand with regards to cancelling and reclaiming? Thanks:confused:

Mornning Di, hope you and yours are all well this morning. I just wanted to add my support to you in regard to your youngest boys troubles at school.
As a mother myself there is nothing worse than seeing your babies hurting physically or mentally, so big hugs.

    Sorry not PPI related:whistle:

You can cancel the PPI as far as I am aware and also make a reclaim if you feel you were missold. Often though, cancelling only reduces the repayments by a little bit. As this was A&L when was this loan taken out and how?? Was it over the telephone or other?

I would now get a letter done for reclaiming it back and tell them that you were sold this in order to get the loan and also were induced to more debt because the PPI was actually another "loan" on top of your original loan. Send out the first template letter from here and also sent this recorded delivery too so you have a proof of this. You then give them 8 weeks for a full and final response to it.

A guide to reclaiming is here and also in your letter add/delete as many reasons as applicable to your claim.

A&L have been fined for mis selling PPI so if you feel thet you were mis sold I would send a claim in.

Ahh, thanks, have asked if this was a telephone sale as these were the only ones they were actually fined for. Lets hope it was... and within the dates applicable too.
