Hello all
Quick query, i've had my repsonse from Egg about my 3k of PPI - they've basically said that as i applied online then it doesnt count and i need to go to the Financial ombudsman.
Its correct i did apply online for the original loan, but then foolishly topped it up that was over the phone as you cant do it online.
Any advice or do i write to the FOS? If i do need to write to them is there a template letter i can adapt?
Thanks all so much for your help0 -
Good Afternoon All
This is my first posting so be gentle with me! I have followed this thread with interest, so much so that I thought what the hell I will fire off 'template one' to GE money to see if I am entitled to claim my ppi premiums back. I received a reply from them today and 'no can do'!
It is quite a long winded letter but they are saying that basically the FSA decision doesn't apply to me as my agreement was set up in 1998. I signed an agreement requesting ppi (the box is ticked by I don't remember ticking it!) and that also because ppi is shown on my statement I could have at any time cancelled but have chosen not to do so.
I can post the full letter if it makes it easier but basically where do I go from here, do I just give up or carry on?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks0 -
Hi again everyone.
Right. Abbey have responded to my initial letter with some kind of questionnaire I have to fill in. I'm not going to be home for a couple of days so won't see it. But does anyone know what this would contain? If it's asking me how I acquired the PPI they should surely know that already?!
Cheers

Heya
I don't know yet he's still at the vets, can't pick him up till about 5 pm. He cried all the way there though :-(
I'm sure he's ok cos I would have heard from them otherwise. Thanks for asking.
I've sat here all day doing nothing when I have loads of things I should be doing!!!0 -

Me personally, I would just send it back and reiterate my claim and tell them all these questions were not asked for at the point of sale so why should they matter now.0 -

Arh this is yet another then ??
There are some posts about this on this thread hun as someone else had asked about this the other day too, some companies seem to send these now going from what I have been reading so far, but hun do not worry about it, you stick to your guns as I seem to think they are just trying to put you off.
Its likely to be questions about the PPI.
I would just send it back with a letter and tell them they know what they need to know because you have already informed them on your first letter.
See what other options are given here hunni and good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
