    Hi all

Just had a letter from the Halifax saying they are upholding my complaint, for PPI on 2 credit cards dating back to 1999. After sending off the initial letters was advised I would have to wait, and like other people they made me wait the full 8 weeks.

The letter gives the usual blurb about not admitting liability, and has only been agreed as i am such a good customer, I will have to wait another month for the payment to be made.

The issue I have is they have said that if I have an open credit card then they will pay the money into this, if not i will be paid by cheque.

Surely if it is my money I can ask for it to be paid to me any way I want, can anyone advise where i need to go with this, the amount should be around £5k and I only owe around £1500 on one of my cards and nothing on the other

    Hi there
Great news that they are paying this back. Well done !

So they do not want to admit mis selling then but do as this a goodwill gesture ?

Yes its your money and I think if you want this paid directly to you then I would tell them that.

However, not absolutely certain here but maybe one of the others could confirm this, as they stated its not mis sold I am not sure where you would stand in this case, for instance if they did admit it was mis sold then the ball in more in your court sort of thing.

But again yes its your money.

Either ring or maybe write if I were you personally and tell them what your first option would be.;)

Please let us know hun thanks.
You can keep checking on here if you want to in case anyone else has any advice on what to do here, but there is no harm in asking for it to be paid directly back to you.;)

Good luck and again well done.:D :T .

    Hi there,

    Well done on your win.

When Barclaycard agreed to pay back my over limit charges they paid it back into my account.

The payment was more than i owed so it completely cleared my balance and had some left over.

I then rang them and they said they could transfer the remainder either into a bank account or pay me by cheque through the post.

I opted for bank account and it hit my bank account 3 days later.

I dont know where you stand legally regarding this matter but it would appear that is what a lot of them are doing.

And when FO took on my capital one card and I won they did say in their letter to me that the amount I had been awarded would probably be deducted from any amounts I had outstanding with Capital One.

From my personal point of view I didnt mind this as it meant my account was cleared so no more interest charges and I had extra to spend as i wished.

    Hope this helps

OMG, my poor neighbour had his car broken into last night, the wires from all under the steering wheel ripped out, they must have tried to start the car but were not successful, but had taken some items from his car too, his car is only 2 years old and my neighbour he is my age, but disabled..... , we were very lucky I suppose, but then as we have a Subaru Impreza, its fully alarmed, tracker the lot, its my hubbys baby and he has had it for a few years now but worked like h*ll for it at the time, and my son's car was parked in with these too, luckily ours had the heavy duty steering locks etc and alarmed, but still its not nice is it, so the police etc will be in the street shortly to do some checks.

Its not the thing that happens around here normally.......

    Wahoooo

The adjudicator has just called me and said that he understands my complaint fully now and has stated that I made a very valid statement in that accepting this offer this would be in full and final settlement and that would include the other loans too.

he has now 100% stated that all four are being looked into and that he has tried to call the co-op today but had to listen to music and answerphones etc but he is going to get back to them and when he has another offer (if they do of course) get back to me....

That is all I wanted, a fair argument and him to adjudicate. Just have to wait now and I have told him i will not pester him again.

He has emailed this as well

I have passed the information you have provided to the Co-op and I am awaiting its response. Please hold the settlement form for the present until I can confirm whether or not they are going to make goodwill gestures on the other 3 PPI sales.I am considering all four loans under the above complaint reference.

Just received a letter from the FSCS, they are again requesting for further information ! (Twopart/Eloan).

Now why did they not request for this when they requested for a document of the name of the company last time ?

They are asking for a copy of the payment protection insurance certificate, but I had sent the agreement, wouldn't that be it ?

I mean what else in certificate am I supposed to provide ?
And any other documents from the insurance company !!

    Any suggestions ?
I am baffled, you don't think they mislaid what I had sent them do you
I thought the payment protection insurance certificate would be that of the agreement, I have nothing else !!
Have you sent the agreement in.. You can't give them what you have not got.. I would ring them and ask..

  • Hi Di and max,

Can I pick your brains please.

My fella used to be somene else's fella (before I got with him I might add)

They got a secured loan through Nemo. It was a joint loan and was for an awful lot of money.

He was left with the entire debt when they split up.

    My question is this.

Does he need both of them to complain about the mis selling of ppi or can he do it?

Well done navydiver, they even do this when the FOS is involved now. If you owe them they take one from the other. I have noted lots of peeps saying this. At least you won and may be able to argue this with them.I would just put it to them that you would prefer the lot to be paid to you and take it from there

Yes I sent the agreement in with the application form....... , I am going to try to ring again shortly, that number they have given its either busy or no answer ....... , will try again though, but meanwhile I have emailed them to tell them that we do not get provided with a insurance certificate where Norwich Union was the insurer and explained the loan and ppi was bundled together as shown on the agreement I already supplied them with...... .

I think they have lost some of the documents, because why did they not request for this on the last request for information ?
