Crikey I have a way to go with this yet then, although we did request for fast track, but still its going to be a long time before this one gets sorted out.

Acknowledgement 30 Sept, not long enough for the 2nd letter yet..... If anyone is being impatient that's me lol.....:o :D

Aknowledgment letter dated 30 September received by the FOS, and the usual stuff - large volumes of enquiries and get back as soon as they can.

Sent by the Casework Administration Department.

Has anyone had any joy reclaiming from Northern Rock? I have a loan with them, which has another 3 years to run. When I took it out I was told (by phone) that I had to have the PPI in order to be accepted. Obviously I have no evidence that this was the case and just wondered how others have got on in these circumstances.
    SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
    SPC 9 (2016) #485 TOTAL £84
    SPC 10 (2017) # 485 TOTAL: £464.80
    SPC 11 (2018) #485

    Hi there
Right then wasn't there a problem with this company ?

Obviously you have a claim here for mis selling as you should have had a choice.
Who arranged this loan ? Was it Northern Rock themselves or did you have a broker to help you find this loan hun?

If you have not done so yet, get a letter in, here on this link below you should fnd a template, use that to help you and add your own reasons, they have 8 weeks to get back to you.

However, have you had the chance to check on the success thread for ppi?
    Cheers.

The Adjudicator who is dealing with my Lloyds tsb credit card complaint had contacted me on the 24 September to tell he he was dealing with my case and he had already sent lloyds a letter to request for info from them, so its still pretty early days on mine really, he did say he was get in touch with me in a few weeks time on that day, should I contact him just to see how its progressing ? or just leave him to get on with it, I would love to know the update so far and yet they have no timescales do they of when they request the information from these companies.......

And hubby have not heard anything yet of his either (2 lloyds complaints) and yet sent in all evidence of being currently sick, copies of meds etc and the financial side of things, yet I don't think they tell you beforehand if they are dealing with the complaint on fast track or not do they ?

    Thanks for the swift reply!
Yes there was a problem with them. They are still honouring existing loans but are not issuing loans any more. I got my loan directly with them over the phone. I already had a loan with them (without PPI) then I wanted to increase it. The only way to do this was to take out another loan which would pay off the previous one and also give me the extra cash I needed. I wondered if I would have a problem as I don't have anything in writing to confirm that I was told that I must have the PPI. I will get a letter off to them anyway. Do I also cancel the PPI or will it be canceled automatically when the claim is sorted?
I didn't know there was a sucess thread, I'll go and find it! Thank you.

We love to help all we can, no problem.;)

If you have no paperwork, you can always request for a copy of your agreement, and if you check out the list I added in that link, as long as you have any of those reasons, that should be okay.

When did you say you had taken this loan out ?

I would also request for a breakdown in the figures of the first loan in writing to be sent to you, you should be able to be provided with these, give them a ring and request for these, they may suggest that you do a SAR, which is a Subject Access Request, you pay £10 cheque payment for this, and they must supply everything they have on you, even phone call recordings etc.

If you also want the template letter for the SAR please let me know, and I will post it later or tomorrow, but still send a letter of complaint to the firm, and if not successful first time round, another letter can be sent until you receive a final decision from them in order to take to the financial ombudsman service, but we will deal with that if it comes to it.
With the SAR also send by recorded post to keep an eye on timescales, they hae 40 days to get back with your SAR.
But like I said do not let this hold you back from sending off your letter.

Do not back out if unsuccessful hun, we will get there.;)
Most first letters are standard template fob offs, which practically say the same in everyone's first replies.

Catch you later then and the success forum is normally next to this one.;)

    Good luck
    Di.

Edited to come back in with the SAR template for you here below, but first ring them and see if there is anything they can send you free of charge. This template can be used for any finance, such as loans and credit cards etc.

Yes i had my PPI refunded by Northern Rock about 4 months ago. They refused first couple of letters and sent me a long form to fill. I refused and threatened FOS. A week later they refunded my PPI about £2900 and rescheduled my loan. I think i still have 4 more years to go on the loan.

Hun I tell you what, you should apply for a job with them, at least you understand these complaints and they would get dealt with far quicker.;)
Thats just it Di. I obviously do not understand these complaints. I don't understand the complaints procedure and I cannot "voice" my complaints very well. I think I have but when these a passed from one to another and you then have to explain things to each it gets very confusing. Most people do not have to do this though and just seems I have been unfortunate I suppose. I know people mean well by saying "you will win this" but looking at this in the right light it seems I have not even had a chance of the one thing that I asked of the OMbudsman service. I asked them to adjudicate my complaint and they have not done. They have listened to the bank who have held the reins all along. Maxdp is right in that they are only councellors and they do not have as much "clout" as we think they have. From what I have seen here it seems that once with an adjudicator it takes about 6 weeks. Mine has not even started (they have now asked for a final response again and its been 11+ weeks since I last communicated with them). Co-op will drag their heels on this final but they have had near on 12 weeks already. That is the bit that grieves me. Why ask them for this.

We keep telling people on here that it is 8 weeks for a full and final response and then you can take your complaint to the FOS without one. I wonder if they do this to everyone and then ask them for a final response anyway???
    Its all not fair.
