On another note just wanted to get some advice about my complaints with Welcome x 3. My adjudicator has been in touch asking for more information about my loans in relation to PPI. As 2 of my loans were initially referred by Dial-4-a-Loan i.e Portifeld Financial Services, Welcome state that my complaint is with them as they packaged the loans and Welcome just sent out the loan agreements and documentation. My argument is that because the loans were secured on property and paid off early I had to get confimation from my employer about my earnings to qualify and meet their criteria for both loans. I did have numerous telephone communications with Welcome while the loans were being processed and was mis-sold PPI . I hope the FOS don't come back and say that my complaint is with Portfield and not Welcome. My Q is whether I will have to start the whole process over again? Any advise on the matter would be helpful to put my mind at rest.
Hi there and not a problem.;)
I see what you mean, and who was it that actually sold the loan hunni ?
Was it them of Portfield ?
If this is the case and the FOS request for you to do this all again, I would ask them to do the letter on your behalf, they may possibly keep the case going for you and that way Portfield will be more prompt, but if this is the case you would want any correspondence back from them for your records also.
If I have the wrong end of the stick here hun, I do apologise, I do know it is normally the ones who sell you the product is who you complain to, and if its about an unfair rebate settlement it would be them of the lender.;)
Maybe Marshallka or one of the others could confirm this to you and with a bit of luck it may all be okay, fingers crossed hunni and please let us know, thanks.;)

As far as I am aware it is the institution that sold the loan not who underwrote them, did they tell you how much they were getting in commission to sell that insurance on to the underwriters:D:mad:0 -

Once again Di Thanx for your encouraging words. The FOS have asked for more info to get a better understanding of the circumstances and the reason for the loans. Both loans were 'approved in principle' by Portfield but Welcome claim that the loans and associated insurances were done by Portfield which is untrue as my employer notes that the request for confirmation of earnings was requested by Welcome and not Portfield as this was made on Welcome's paperwork. My view is that Portfield possibly packaged the loan and then referred it to one of their lenders i.e Welcome to proceed with it. I hope this makes sense Di x
Perhaps Marshallka or Tiggrae could shed some light?0 -

I'm new to all this and am desperate for help.
I took out a consolidation loan in 2004 with HFC. Walking through their door was the worst decision I have ever made (alongside marrying my ex-husband):rotfl:
I was told I had to take out the PPI due to being high risk otherwise they couldn't give me the money. They added this as part of the loan at the beginning of the 7 yr payment period meaning I have to pay interest on the whole amount. (Single Premium Policy) I believe it's called. Originally I was paying £216 per month but fell into difficulties when my I seperated from my ex and contacted them to reduce my payments temporarily while I sorted things out. They agreed over the phone to accept half (£136.21) per month. I have been paying this amount ever since as when I contacted them they said I couldn't go back to my original payments as they had extended the terms of my original loan to the new amount. I wasn't sure what this meant till today but I went to the bank to discuss my account and was offered to consolidate all my loans for a much better rate. I went to HFC for a settlement figure only to find out that the amount outstanding is £1,300 more than what it was 8 months ago and the outstanding balance is £6000 more than what it was 6 months ago. They also informed me that this was somehow due to the credit crunch and that I will be repaying the loan till 2016. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!!! I never recieved any confirmation of the extended terms which started in November 2005 and I have never been contacted asking if I agree to the extended terms or if I am happy to pay it for the rest of my life. the original loan I went in for was only £6500 and I've already paid back £7775. I seem to be paying and paying but the figures are going up instead of down.
Sorry for dragging it out so long but I'm so frustrated I cried in front of my bank manager today and even after calling them I was told they would log I'd called to complain. When I got my settlement figure in January 2008 the outstanding balance was £13441. Now the're telling me it's £19798. Please help me!!!

Just thought I'd post to say that I am STILL waiting for the ombudsman to review my case with Worst Plus. Last letter from them apologising for the delay was June according to my file so I need to call them again and chase them up. Back in June / July they were still working on cases from end 2007 and mine was start 2008 so it might be my turn soon!0
