Difficult to find paperwork on this one....Managed to find out that the broker was HSF (or HFS) - anyone any idea if they are still going.
Also.....left the best until last - I've just won my claim against First Plus !!!! whole premium plus interest paid on it deducted from loan and payments made towards premium so far to be refunded by cheque.....
thank god and a million thanks again to all who helped...

Hi at the end of sept this year i sent a templet to GE MONEY re my dorothy perkins account to reclaim the mis sold PPI. (I sent the templet that they had been fined by the FSA.) I have today received a letter saying that they were fined in 2005, and my policy was set up in 1994 so I can not claim. Also they have said 'since you opened your account, this insurance has been clearly shown on your statements, when a balance has been outstanding and could have been cancelled or a claim made at any time' . They can find no evidence of the mis-selling of this insurance so therefore are unable to refund the claim. Do you think I should give up or has anyone got any ideas, feel really sad now.0

Hi Marshallka
Didn't need to go to FOS which was great. It was the SAR that did it....before I requested SAR I wrote to First Plus compaining about misselling. First Plus replied saying that they had listened to all phone calls and didn't find anything wrong with the way the PPI had been sold to us.
We requested SAR and listened to tapes/phone conversations (the complaints chap must have been listening to a different set of conversations than us) - it was apparently clear that large amounts of info had been omitted. The salesperson confirmed our loan amount and then quoted the repayments with the PPI already included - according to FSA rules they have to quote repayment figures with AND without PPI, the salesman made it sound as if it PPI was automatically included. He also made no mention of the interest being added to the premium AND that we would pay interest for the full term of the loan even though it only lasted for 5 years !. More glaringly.....initially main cover was my other half, but switched to me when his new job didn't come off. The salesman simply left the ppi in place which had been recommended for hubby and thought it was fine to lump ppi on me when they already knew I was covered by my employer.
I got the letter a full 2 weeks before they said they would reply, so the complaints exec must have found the right set of tapes to listen to this time as he fully upheld our complaint !!
phew....sorry for the missive, but it may help others. My advice is listen very carefully to the taped conversations....they are very revealing.
Good luck to everybody else....and I'm now going to plough through the rest !

marshallka wrote: »Right my adjudicator has never returned to work again:eek: since speaking with me (Must of given him stress...) No really, he never did return I am now being told so my case is being passed to another person. I did speak to his manager today who informed me that the Co-op have made an offer and she did not know what it was and that they would look at it and see if it was something that I should accept or not. I asked about what loans they had been made an offer on and whether it was all four but she did not know. I then asked if she could find out the amount but she could not but said maybe by the end of the week she would be able to tell us. I have a feeling now that this is for only one loan or even a goodwill gesture of peanuts as these were adamant that I should have been aware within 3 years and I was not.
Just going to have to wait now.... Its going to kill me here.
Hi there Marshallka
I thought they may have passed your case on to someone else, because you did say a few times that your adjudicator was never there, first due to hols then sickness leave.
I do hope all this is on 4 loans hunni and hope its a good offer.;)
Because you now know this I bet it will be stuck on your mind until you know, but if you can hun, try to push it to the back of your mind for now and with a bit of luck before the end of the week you will have some good news.;)
Everything crossed for you Marshallka.;) xxThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0
