Me too and I expect everyone else as well. GOSH! I'm so suprised lol! :rotfl:0
-
I ordrered 3 lots of 5 televisions from homebase for friends / family.
My credit card was debited today twice for £7.40, the the third lot wasn't taken, even though I have 3 confirmation e-mails.
I have found some info here, it may or not be useful.
http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/general/advertising/fs_p01.shtml
it states, ironically
"However, a trader who mistakenly prices a product (for example, “28 inch widescreen television for £39.90” instead of £399) is not obliged to honour that price unless the transaction has already been completed. The trader must nevertheless take immediate steps to rectify the mistake."0 -
I am not making a big fuss over it, but i would like to know WHEN they are going to pay me back as they have taken the money out of my account.0

Oh well, I think i've given up all hope
. Still I decided I may as well send Argos a decent email back and see what they say. I expect they will tell me where to get off!
Anyway it read as follows:
To Whom It May Concern,
Thanks for your email to let me know of your mistake. However I understand your terms and conditions state that you would give me the option of cancelling my order or purchasing the item's at the correct price. I was unfortunately never given an option and it almost seems that ARG only respect their T&C's when it suits them best.
Secondly I would ask Argos to immediately return my £125.91. As I am sure you can understand this is a large amount of money for a student to spend, especially in return for no goods whatsoever. I have therefore been in communication with the National Union of Students (NUS) as to the legality of debiting my money when ARG had no intention of ever supplying the product. They have put me in touch with their contract law solicitor who has provided me with legal help (and will continue to do so) free of charge.
I would presume that ARG are going to offer me some sort of goodwill gesture to apoligise for the inconvenience that I have been caused. This only seems morally right considering the situation that has arisen through no fault of my own.
Yours Sincerely,
You don't actually think i contacted the NUS or a solicitor! Do You?0 -
I sent a similar e-mail rejecting their rejection. this is the reply
Thank you for your recent email.
I have sent your email to the relevant department who will answer your enquiry within 2 days.
If you need to contact us, please call 0870 600 8784.
I wonder if the relevant department resides in the little round bin by their desk?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

We can keep saying that, its just that some people round here refuse to accept the fact. Even though 2 threads have been closed on this already, they try to continously push a dead point, and not even a Judge would convince them they are wrong. (Contract Law have made obsolutely no difference to them).
"I've ordered 6 tvs and demand argos supply them" type messages. lol. How greed will corrupt a mind is quite amazing when you read some of these messages.0 -

£125.91 is an awful lot of TVs at 49p each!!!!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
As far as I am concerned once they have taken the money the transaction is complete.
They can not renege once payment has been taken and we have satisfied all the conditions.
The payment agreement has been finalised.
Therefore they must deliver.0 -
on another forum someone has contacted Argos regarding when the refund will take place and they have been told 7-10 days
That is frankly outrageous because if they actually action a refund once they have cancelled your order it should take no more than 3 days to go through the credit card system.0
