Got exactly the same email. I think tho that our cards have not yet been actually charged but rather that the cash has been reserved.

I have now had the funds (as far as I can tell) taken from my credit card for the Argos order but not from Bank card for the Homebase order.

And still no cancelation Email for either, now they have more work to do refunding the money.

I think they should bite the bullet and deliver the goods, maybe then they will be more carefull in the future. After all they have not made one mistake but two in same day.

My card was charged on Saturday by Argos and it is on my online recent transactions . I haven't had an email to say it has been cancelled either. I guess they will get round to it today.

i got the same email so i called my bank today to see if it's actually reserved or debited... it's scheduled to come out this afternoon by close of business day so they'd either get on with canceling it and send my email very quickly or they are going to have a contract with me like it or not

we've been talking about this on a few forums and one person's spouse is a lawyer and has said quite plainly that once the money is taken out it's a contract and no amount of fine print will change it!! woohoo, we need a new telly!

They discussed this Argos misprice on Radio 5 Live today and interviewed a top solicitor to find out if Argos would have to honour the purchases. He stated that even if Argos debited peoples accounts they wouldn't have to honour the transaction. He said 'If it's obvious that it's misprice then the courts would rule in the seller's favour'. In this case, 49p for a Widescreen TV and a DVD recorder is OBVIOUSLY a misprice.

    I just got my email:

Bush TV/DVD combi (Product No: 536/1108)

I refer to your order for the above product and thank you for placing an order with Argos.co.uk

Unfortunately there were was an accidental error on the price shown on our website for this product during 27th August causing the product to be advertised for £0.49 rather than the correct price of £349.99. This error has now been rectified and in accordance with Condition 4.2(b) of our Website terms and conditions I am writing to advise you of this problem.

We have therefore had to reject all orders placed at the incorrect price in accordance with Condition 2.3 of our Website terms and conditions and with regret we cannot accept your order.

On behalf of Argos I apologise for the inconvenience caused and can assure you that any charges debited to your payment card, will be fully refunded as soon as possible.

Thank you again for your custom with Argos.

    Yours faithfully,
