    Why?

To get the 99€ phone you MUST sign up to an 89€ per month tariff.

    I tell ya why!

He might be super rich to be able to afford 89€ per month tariff, (assuming your figures are correct) but he certainly was not " pulling me plonker " :rotfl:

Really the German T-mobile prices are ludicrous.

To get the phone for 99 euros (about £78.50) you have to have a 24 month contract at £70.50 per month.

Thats a total cost of £1770.50!!!

(Based upon my German and math being any good)

that is the top tarriff though, u can get the phone for £200 and a tariff of £24 per month for 24 months, which makes it roughly £776, which makes it roughly the same as this country if you do indeed sign up for the 18 month £35 tariff

i dont think so, i think the mobile companys for each country had to bid for the rights to sell the mobile in that country, i,e o2=uk, t-mobile=germany

obviously when the contract runs out between o2 and apple, u may get other networks selling it, but then again, by the time that happens, there will be a new toy out, so it wont make much difference

I wonder if O2 have now caught on to the fact that most people are now buying these without the intention of getting the contract?

I was in my local o2 store today with every intention of buying one of these, I saw a guy at the cash desk buying one and getting a story from the assistant about needing their full address so o2 can contact them if the contract isn't activated. Bull or what?
