    You are right, Apple actually restricted the bluetooth to headset only. It was for revenue protection (so you cant connect to another phone for 3G data).

    Is there a bluetooth hack to allow connection to GPS bluetooth receivers ?

    He is confusing connecting to the TomTom unit for handsfree use, which the iPhone does do, with the people asking the query about getting TomTom working on the iPhone with a bluetooth GPS receiver for navigation on the iPhone, this is not possible.

    There is no hack or modificaction to allow the iPhone to use bluetooth for anything other than headset / handsfree mode.

    UPDATE - Quidco just paid my £100. Got the IPHONE for £69, unlocked it so no contract - good result although a 5 month wait!
