I've had mine 4 days and not had an activation email. By the way - it's FAB! I love it and am a pretty critical gadet guy! It has some annoying shortcomings, but it hasn't crashed once since I've had it and I've messed with it loads! Compare this to any windows mobile phones I've had that crashed at least once a day, or my nokia which is r e a l l y s l o w doing things the Iphone does in a few seconds.
    Biggest down sides (for me)
    1) It is not 3g and when you surf away from wireless networks, it is pretty slow.

    2) No real audio player so I can't listen to the BBC internet radio stations.

    3) No real sat nav for it (I have a seperate Garmin 7xx which I use so this isn't a real biggie but does mean taking two devices on hols).

If anyone knows a work round for (2) or (3) I'd be really over the moon with it!

BBC iPlayer for iPhones and iPod touch is currently in a beta phase.
To access it, ensure that you have a wireless internet connection for your iPhone or iPod touch, then go to BBC iPlayer homepage. You can Click to Play (stream) any of the programmes available, but you cannot download at present.
Please note that you will need to keep the wireless connection while watching a programme

i unlocked mine and put my virgin contract in is this ok, purchased online from o2 haven't actually used properlly yet in case of contract comeback.
  • Iplayer works fine - in fact - it's brilliant! Was on about the RADIO stations.
Google maps is good - no interface to GPS tho :-(
  • ZiPhone has been criticised in some circles, I mean yes, the unlock works, but apparently the program reflashes the baseband number, permanently. Which would mean that were if the phone to go wrong, it's a damn sight harder to get the thing serviced. Just my 2 cents.

Oh, and has anyone else received a letter by CPW with a £100 credit voucher following the purchase of the iPhone? Despite the fact that I paid the lower price, the letter tells me I overpaid for it, and hence a £100 credit voucher. So that would me that I've ultimately paid only 69 quid for the thing...score!

With out wishing to be pedantic you still paid £169, and you ended up with a voucher not a cheque for £100 back.

Still a touch though and really wishing I had bought one but I dont know why, if it had a decent camera it would have been the clincher.

heard a guy bought more than 100 iphones, and shipping them to China to get a profit of at least 100 pounds each:mad:

will check another store nearby tomorrow:rolleyes:

Yeah - thanks! It's just a nice touch to have an extra 100 quid to spend on bits and bobs. So far, i've been pretty happy with it - especially with the third party apps.
