my son bought one last month, and it is a lovely piece of kit, however he asked the salesman if it would be going down in price any time soon and the man said "Oh no it wont be going down for months" now did he know it would be coming down this month or not? If he did it was a lie and so surely my son could ask for some compensation, maybe some free months rental? Do you think it would be worth him going in the shop and asking the man?

Another reputable website (T3) states that CPW will give a £100 voucher to anyone that bought the phone at the old price in the last 30 days.

There is no contract. You are paying for the phone, what you do with it after you have paid for it is upto you.

My order stated there was no monthly charge and that is what I am sticking to.

BTW, this is a very over-rated phone. You are better off getting a smartphone as they are easier to use and more flexible.

Yes best to wait, the current iphone is not very good and never a must have gadget.

if you want to browse the web or get email - 3G is a must - GPRS is slow - its like having to go back toa dial up modem after having DSL.

Went and got one from my local O2 shop yesterday. Even heard another sales assistant directing a customer in the way if unlocking the iphone.

Paid £169, got home and within 10 minutes i was playing away.

In fact i was playing with it for hours. In my opinion its a brilliant piece of kit, wifi is good, camera isn't bad for 2mp's, all of the additional applications, you could be there for days installing, trying things out.

Will probably get the new one when it comes out, this is still brilliant and for the money very good. (Might be a different story if i would be pay £35 a month for 18 months though).

  • This may sound like a silly question...but

I just went online to buy one and although at various points around the website it states that you must enter in to an 18 months contract, at no point during the checkout process for the phone does it mention anything about a contract, i can get right to the end and put my card number in and it still hasn't asked me to choose a tariff or anything.

    Is this normal??

    Thanks

  • O2 have just reduced the price of the 8gb iphone to £169. They are offering £100 cashback through quidco.com for any new contract taken out through the O2 online shop. You will still have to have the £35 pm contract but get the iphone for an unbeatable price. Offer ends this Sunday. MAKE SURE THE ORDER IS TRACKED THROUGH QUIDCO OTHERWISE NO CASHBACK!!!

PS. I don't work for quidco.com just thought it was a really good deal!
