((((Hugs)))) Penny Pincher - I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
I am going to have to post a sad one today as unexpectedly my cat Holly has died, I should have prepared for it as she went in for a tooth extraction today at 15 years, but vet did a blood test and thought she was ok to go ahead, op went ok but sadly she didn't make itI feel bad for going ahead with the op but she needed it doing and the vet did discuss it with us and felt it was worth the risk as she was being sick and must have been in some pain. So Catznine is now Catznone:sad: and the puppy keeps looking for her!
Sorry to put a downer on the threadI will be ok, had my tears and am sorting out her stuff for the cat protection league as we won't be getting another cat!
Catz x

As a regular lurker and not so frequent poster as I'm so busy with this OS lark, I don't know how you all find the time to post and bake, crotchet etc etc, I wanted to pop on to give my hugs to:
Smoky - you are doing fantastically well, you need alot more time to grieve and maybe leave some of Eric clothing for you to hold onto during the low times. I honestly can't begin to imagine what you are going through, but I and all other Os'ers are here for you.
PP - hugs to you, I certainly don't mind you posting about you feeling low, I am sending you my hugs and I will be thinking of you tomorrow.
catzine - So so sorry to hear of your loss - my thoughts are with you.
Martin - send an email to your friend who you think you may have upset, you have been through alot recently and I'm sure your friend will understand, try and not worry about it too much.
I haven't done too much today, as I had a wee operation on Friday and feeling rather sore today, nothing serious, I had a fibroadenoma lump removed.
Feeling quite pleased with myself, just made a sausage casserole in the SC and I have Hm fresh rolls ready to pop into the oven in 10 mins ready for OH return, I need some ironing doing so I'm gonna ask him if he will do it, as the surgeon told me to take it easy for two weeks, she wouldn't give me a sick note to give to my OH though:rotfl:
Sorry if I have missed anyone, hugs to all who are poorly, and take care.

Hi all
...and now I'm even more confused by the changes MSE Towers seem to have made to the threads today - ie only seeing one post at a time (rather than the whole page worth) and - to make matters worse - the little box at the top where they are listing headings isnt even in consecutive order number sometimes - so one cant follow through the posts in order (eg a 6pm post today coming up before a 4pm post today). CONFUSING!
I say - even more confusing than that - as I looked for the Reply button and could only see the quick reply box.
HATE THIS! Have started a thread on the feedback Board re this cockamamie idea. Do feel free to add to it.
Also I'm finding I cant even get into some of the threads at present - an empty screen is coming up (seems to be the longer ones as far as I can see - so cant even see my own Simplifying Life one at moment).
Hopefully - normal service will resume soon.
EDIT; After a very odd hour re this site its all gone back to normal - dont understand that at all. Anyways - all sorted now thankfully. Dont want to miss out on my fave website.0 -
Just quick revisit to say PenPin hope that your scan news is good to-morrow...if you can't complain to us, where will you do it??
Catznine...dread my 12 year old Luca departing he is the only pet we have now and would miss him dreadfully, hugs to you.
Mrs Mix, trust that your dad will recover soon
Have a lovely evening all

Hiya :hello:
Hugs to Smoky.
It's been a busy day here today. After taking the girls to school I helped at the church drop-in and then came home to give the house a good clean/dust/vacuum/mop.
Pipkin I'm 40 soon and I'm quite happy to have some 'old-fashioned ways' too. As a child I spent a lot of time with my elderly grandparents, usually on coach trips to Wigan Pier or to visit old mills. At our church drop-in the average age is about 75 and I'm always the youngest one there. On the other hand, I teach 4 year olds at school and 7-11 year olds in sunday school and think of myself as 'a big kid' who wants to have fun. So there's room for all kinds!
We had a raffle and table sale in church this morning and I bagged a few bargains including a brand new pair of pjs for DD1 costing £1. I also got a brand new black M&S bag that folds out into a huge bag on wheels also costing £1. DD1 laughed at me and said I was turning into 'an old granny', cheeky madam!:rotfl: I don't care as I'm going to start a new trend!;)
The weight loss has come to a standstill as I made a lovely banana cake yesterday and came home from church with some of the leftover scones and muffins.
I made a huge pan of spag bol for tea using some veg mince that was lurking at the back of the fridge and I'll freeze half of it for another night. Another reason for the weight loss stop is the garlic toast we've been having. It's made by simply spreading butter, garlic puree and herbs onto white bread and toasted in the oven for 10-15 minutes and it's lovely.:o
So tomorrow I will climb back onto the 'cutting back plan'.
I'm not in work tomorrow but I've got a growing list of things to get done.
Have a good evening.0 -
Just popped back to say good luck Penny Pincher, I'll keep everything crossed - well, not everything as I have to drive to work.
Catznine, sorry to hear about your cat. Ours is either 17 or 18, but the vet nurse still has to hold her for her injections as she bites
Still sniffling, but feel much better than I did this morning, so hope it was just one of those 24 hour things. Hope everyone else feels better soon.
Going to watch Gok Wan later, I love that manYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Martyn - How you doing mate? Hugs.
I only worked half a day today as I am now on my hols until the end of next week :j As it's been a cracker of a day, I've been busy this afternoon. I've cleaned the "home" from end to end and finally got rid of all the unwanted memories. Serendipity called at one point as well. While I was having a pot of tea, I spied a Buzzard in the sky and I just stood and watched for about 10 minutes as it rode the thermals. It was one of those magical moments that you get every so often and as the sky was blue and cloud-free, I could see every marking on his wings. As Buzzards are one of my favourite birds, it was pure bliss for me.
I had another completely unexpected late birthday surprise as well. A couple of weeks ago at work, I made one of those throw-away remarks, as you do, about wanting to learn to play the guitar. As I was changing the bedding in the m/home this afternoon, two of the dear people I work with came over and presented me with a guitar!! I hadn't given it a moments thought since I first mentioned it but what a fantastic giftAs I'm absolutely shattered as a result of what's been happening, I've decided that a few days away are in order and as I'm heading in the direction of Glastonbury, it might be the perfect inspiration
The m/home is in for some work tomorrow morning and I'm at the doctors in the afternoon so as long as he doesn't put me in a loony bin  I shall slip quietly away probably Thursday or Friday. Just me, the dogs, a few good books, plenty of tea-bags and lots of pure peace and quiet.
Hope everyone is as good as can be and my thoughts are with anyone who isn't.
