Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 14 april. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning.
Woke up early today. A bit earlier than I planned.
Still gives me a break before I get packed lunches made, animals fed and shirt ironed etc.
Everyone is off to work and college etc.
I had a nice lazy Sunday, we went to some American friends for Sunday dinner, they have access to the base shop, so real root beer, Dunkin donuts coffee, and other things I like..
When we got home, I lit the log fire and watched the US masters golf... The only work I did was chop sticks for the fire. The way it should be. It was cold yesterday too.
I received a pound of blue mountain Jamaican coffee beans yesterday from a lady at church who I help sort out travel arrangements. She still keeps a home there and brings me back coffee and real jerk seaoning every time she goes. A real treat which I look forward too.
Well folks, must get on... have a nice day

Morning N9eav, and all who follow.
After the spring clean yesterday, I was hoping for a decent sleep, but sadly not, so I'm up and have stuck the last load in the WM and put some dough in the BM to make baguettes for later.
I'm in the middle of preparing a report for the LEA, detailing my DDs education plans both now and in the future, which they will hopefully be satisfied with. If so, I will only need to produce them annually.
Today's plans are working with the girls this morning, then they have their ICT lesson this afternoon.
All in all though, the house is tidy [makes a change!] and there's not much to be done, apart from a small pile of ironing.
I took some turkey breasts out last night to defrost, so just need to decide what to marinate them in for dinner tonight.
Hope you all have a good day. ((((((((HUGS)))))))) to all who need or want one.

Hi N9EAV - another early riser here! In fact, it was hardly worth me going to bed! I've been up since about 2am! Will definitely be flagging some time soon! At least I am organised now - practically all my chores are done and it's still early.
SMOKY - thinking of you; hope the weekend was restful.
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
Must go and drag DH out of bed and put the porridge on - will call back later!

Morning
Feeling a bit yuk this morning, woke up yesterday with a sore throat, and today have the cough and sniffles to go with itOh well, plenty of paracetamol and cups of tea and I'm sure I'll feel much better later.
It was a lovely day yesterday, if a bit cold. DH and I went down to the allotment yesterday, and he did loads of work on the ramshackle old shed we bought for £10, and now it looks like a new shed - very MSEI was going to go and do some more digging, but think a day at home is on the cards.
Meant to do a beef roast dinner last night, but ran out of time, so that's tonights offering.
Have a good day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Morning everyone
A few tired people today then - make sure you put your feet up for an hour later if you get a chance so you don't fall over with tiredness...
(((((smokey))))) (((((martyn)))))) and for anyone else who could do with one.
Still off from placement the next 3 days, but have an impending sense of panic about the fact I have 2 more essays to write & a portfolio to put together in the next 6 weeks.... I know it will be fine & all come together but I woke up feeling panicky & overwhelmedJust need to do some deep breathing & plan what I'm going to do when.... I'm sure half the problem is I feel surrounded by 'junk' too.
My 'craft' cabin in the garden seems to have become a charity shop/boot sale stuff dumping ground & also now temporarily containing a pile of exDH's stuff (as he left new wife & has nowhere to store in his flat). Also got bits of furniture my little sis is having now she is on her own (there's an epidemic of it....) so need to find cheapest/easiest way to get it across to Bognor.
Think I have got lots of bits I could probably freecyle so need to find out how to join up to that. And create a box of ebay things, then take pics of them ready to put online too (even if I don't start selling them till I finish for summer). Also the paperwork/post/bills need a good sort through & clear-out of the rubbish.
So that's a few days worth of sorting out & in between will get the WM going in case the sun stays...
Have a good day all.
Edit - happy birthday master kyle as well!Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Good morning everyone,
Well I went out for the day today, so I did nothing at home.I did the washing before I left and I've just taken it off the line. Thunder in the distance so a storm is brewing and the sky is changing to very dark. It's been hotter than normal today.
Not too sure what's for tea but it will be easy. Had chinese for lunch & we're still full. XDIL & DGS are visiting tomorrow morning. I hope to get up early as I want to get a few things done before they come. I seem to run out of steam by afternoon.
Master Kyle :bdaycake: big sloppy kiss from me. :kisses2:
charlies Mum Try a hot toddy tonight.Hope you feel better soon.
