Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 13 april. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning. I have the day off, so it's coffee, computer, communion, chicken, chill out, chianti, crackers, cheese, crash out. Well something like that. I was just trying to be clever and use C for everything.
Work was quieter yesterday, so I took a few hours off. Popped in to ASDA, big mistake as it was manic in there. Lots of folks on holiday I recon.
Enkoyed a nice curry last night with some pinot noir and watched the MASH evening, fell asleep in the chair at about nine, that was it.
Daughter rolled in at 2.30 and woke us up as my son had locked all the door when he rolled in before that. I remember those days....:rotfl: long time ago though.
Have a lazy day and enjoy a rest

If onlyI'm working as always *sigh*.
I'm glad yesterday is over with. It was better than I expected but not what I would have wanted, but thanks all for your wishes.
Today's major task is giving the fish tank a clean prior to me rehoming the fish next week *even bigger sigh*. At least I know they're going to a good home so that's some comfort.
And talking of birthdays:
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Suesy Sue

Hi all, hope everyone has had a good weekend so far!!?
So, the weather is bright and sunny down here in the South East, but a little chilly. This time last year it was baking!!
We all went off to Tesco shopping yesterday, spent £95 which is for two adults and two young ones. A bit pricey for us but we stocked up on lot's of offers and the freezer is now full. It'll last (apart from the fresh stuff) for at least a fortnight so really is about £45 a week which we think is quite good for us. We bought ready prepped fish pie fillets yesterday (fresh fish didn't look good on the counter) which at £2.99 a pop for about 400g of fish is not very MSE but we made fish pie and we got it to stretch with adding frozen veg and lot's of spuds, to 6 adult meals so not too bad. All made from scratch it was fab!! Even Rhysmum was impressed as she isn't a big fish lover.
Then home made banoffee pie which again was heaven!!
Today we are taking the boys off to see their Great Gran, 85 last Sunday, to take her birthday gifts to her. We are celebrating her birthdays even more now as last year she nearly died from heart problems. She had a leaky valve which needed to be replaced. Off she went to St Thomas' Hospital in London and had the op. The second oldest in the country to successfully have the op and recover fully to a normal life. Well done her i say. She says it's the 'wartime spirit' that got her through. We reckon she's just stubborn!!!!
Anyway, hope you all have an enjoyable rest of your weekend everyone!!0 -
Morning all! Happy Birthday to SUESYSUE:bdaycake:
(((Hugs))) Smoky - thinking about you; the garden plans sound lovely. (((Hugs))) to the LOs.
MARTYN - hope today is a good day for you.
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
The sun is shining and the sky is blue but it doesn't fool me - that's how every morning seems to start nowadays and then it suddenly pours with rain the moment I hang the washing on the line.
I did a big spring clean of the kitchen yesterday so it looks great. Feel really pleased with myself!
Well, kettle is boiling - will pop back later

Morning all - the boys are up early today I see!!! Happy Birthday Suseysue as well (and anyone else). ((((hugs))))) to those needing them.
Martyn - glad you have managed to get through yesterday & put it behind you now. See each day like that as another step on the way to your future.
A mixture of beautiful blue sky & a few wispy black clouds floating around out there... Been awake since 6ish, had 1 cuppa, need more thoughJust about to start typing my letters for the office (as kids at their dad's & it's all quiet here
) then rest of the day pottering.
Thanks to help from the InMyHome forum I went & got extension leads for my sky+ and have moved the tv unit (and lounge) around ready for whenever I eventually get a delivery date for new sofa. Need to get some plastic tubing stuff to neatly run it through so I don't have wire everywhere though.
Need to get some washing done (and hung out if it doesn't pour), and STILL haven't done the banana bread (that I was going to make Wednesday...).
Ok, time for tea & then typing... Have a good day all.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning Guys!
We had OH's family around yesterday for most of the day, so I am shattered.
3 washloads to do today, empty DW and clean toilet.
Have been invited round to nephews for lunch, so going round there around 1pm.
Thank you for all the wishes for OH. He is still not himself and I am worried about him. DD doesnt want to go to the funeral, so she will be staying with friends.
This week we have to get DD some new bras, new blazer:eek: and some other stuff...its going to be a expensive one:rolleyes:
Hugs to all.

Good morning,
Just some ironing and a spot of decluttering to do today in Cranky Towers.
Thanks to my sil we have a railway in our spare room (Thomas the Tank Engine). She's only ever bought ds one present in his 3 years, but she made it a biggun! It needs taking up today so that I can hoover, and then I will rebuild it with a 3 year old at my shoulder, giving advice and asking roughly every 30 seconds "can I put my trains on it now?"
I think I'll have a go at sorting the freezer out too. I need to dig some of the older things out from the bottom and use them up.
I did want to plant some seedlings out, but the weather is wet and cold again here in the North West. Dh is heading for the Canaries on his ship. Hmph!
Take care all of you.0 -
A Good Morning to everyone!
Sunny but chilly here too - Hoping to pop across the river to Woolwich today to see some of the London Marathon (CM  ) - and DS2 likes to grab all those sports drinks!:rotfl: Have to be abit careful, as we usually stand just past the drink point, so the runners chuck their leftovers! (cue flying Lucosade -duck!):rotfl: I have entered about 4 times for the Marathon, but not been lucky so far (or maybe I have;) ) The 5K Race for Life will be enough, let alone 26 odd miles! Good luck to all those taking part.
Just ironing to put away this morning, so nothing exciting:rolleyes:
rhysdad - good on your mum! my mum had a heart op and is still going strong at 75!:T
Mrsmix - Hi Pam, hope the joints are ok?!
benthosboy - cleaned my fish out yesterday too!
Happy Birthday Suesy Sue:beer:
