When I was in college I found jobs that would take me one/two days a week in shops. She needs to go out with a CV and a pen and her NI number and do a sweep of the town's shops. Thats what I do when I look. I also works some mornings and afternoons before and after lectures. There are also evenings in supermarkets, they are always looking for new staff. Checkouts is easy and pays my bills whilst I study now.0

Have you got a Blockbuster near by. My DD2 is working there and does different hours if she wants. They are very flexible. Well done to your DD for wanting to work.
Hope that helpsWhen life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile0 -
Is she doing A-levels?
I worked at Next & The Bear Factory during my year 12 & 13.
At uni, we always have had help and they have a jobshop too. I advertised on gumtree as a mother's help/part time nanny as I have experience. Perhaps she could look into babysitting?
Waitressing and clothing jobs might be good. Next like employing young people and all of the girls I worked with on Saturdays were Sixth Formers.0 -

I dont mean to be rude, but I would not set anyone on whose mum rang for the application form for them.
it may be reasonable not to expect young people to have much experience (being young), but I would instead be interested in their aptitude, and first and foremost I would hope they would have some initiative!
Someone's mum ringing for an application form on their behalf would make me doubt that!
Let her ring them herself!!0 -
Well if you had read my previous post, she is at college away from home and doesnt have time during week to ring up places, and as ive said before im her mum and iam trying to help her,its what mums who care do!0
