Ideas for fillings for toasted sandwiches please?

I haven't read the whole thread
but we like to butter the outside only and then only put the filling where the 'pockets' so there's no waste.
teaspoons of jam or even better chocolate spread!!!
Another nice one is cheeses and sweet chilli sauce
or my original college concoction of peanut butter tomato sauce and cheese - yummy Melissa

Corned beef and baked beans
Chicken and stuffing (Turkey and Stuffing after boxing day)
Pizza (no, not the dough! but spread one bread half with tomato puree or ketchup then add fave pizza toppings a sprinkle of cheese put the lid on and toast)
banana and chocolate (nutella is nice) and when toasted sprinkle with sugar - any kind!
Cheese and apple
or Stilton and Pear for posh toasties!
my fave though is Dairylee spread thickly on a slice of toast then put under the grill till it bubbles (not strictly a toastie but I thought I would include it anyway).

for me, all toastie fillings must contain cheese and onion. My absolute favourite is cheese, onion, tomato and corned beef but I also love ham or tuna with the cheese and onion.


Oh and the ham version is deeeeeelish with a drizzle of nando's hot marinade in too!!!

Hi all, not sure if this is in the right place?!

Just curious to what fillings you have in your toasties (the sealed trangle type)....we only have baked beans, baked beans with cheese, cheese and cheese and onion.

Would love to try new flavours ...

Cheese & ham
Cheese & pickle
Brie & cranberry sauce
Cheese & jam if there's no brie or cranberry sauce :cool:
Cheese & ham & tomato sauce (not me yuck but the kids)

When I was a student I used to fill my toasted sandwiches with spaghetti hoops!
I had long since forgotten about that and now I really fancy trying it again!:D

Cheese and sliced pickled onion is our absolute favourite.
