Hi all

I'm trying to sell a buggy which has been in the garage for a while. I have noticed black spot mould on the belts and have tried bleach etc this reduces it but doesn't completely eradicate it.

Any ideas pls?

Many thanks as always

MM

I sucessfully cleaned up a mildewed buggy using that vanish oxy-action stuff, you know the powder that comes in the pink tub. I mixed it with a tiny bit of water to make a paste and then scrubbed it into the straps for ages with a nail brush before rinsing it off. Took a lot of elbow grease but did work. Make sure you wear gloves if you try it!

Wonder if this would work on my shower curtain? Have just washed it and it's now in a mild bleach solution, so next step might be the vanish stuff!

I bought some stuff called 'Astonish' for mould and mildew remover from Savers a few weeks back and it is abslutely amazing. My shower cubicle was absolutely disgusting and I tried everything to get it clean. This stuff is amazing and the whole unit came up gleeming and it also cost a £1!
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

    Hi

The only thing I found that worked was... Dettox mould and mildrew remover, you just spray it on, wait 10 mins and it is clean !

Any ideas on getting mould (I think it is) off a cotton pillowcase? It was in with a very wet towel for a while (I will have to put up a large sign saying no damp towels in the laundry basket!) I didn't notice it and it has not come out in an ordinary wash. I need some ideas, please guys,

    thnaks in anticipation....mocolo

More of a long term solution might be a dehumidifier. I had to get one last week, after severe asthma attack, and have been happily emptying pints of water away every day. Have it on in the room where laundry is drying, cheaper than a tumble dryer, laundry dries more quickly and whole house feels much nicer. Might sort out any incipient asthma, too ! I got one for £69.99 from John Lewis, it's Bionnaire by DeLonghi

    HI guys
thnaks for replying so quickly. I do usually do a search if I am looking for anything-typical! The info on the older threads is really helpful-off to banish the mould....

Bleach is usually used but might damage the fabric, eucalyptus oil can be good for mould/mildew removal.

    <H2>Mould from clothing

    i) remove mildew from clothing or other fabrics begin by brushing the mildewed area. It's best to do this outside. The item must be dry to do this. Then rub the affected area with half a lemon that has been dipped in salt.
Then wash as usual. Dry the item in the sun if possible
    Found this on another site
