    JUST RECEIVED:

    Dear Customer

Thank you for contacting us at Amazon.co.uk with your concern.

We are sorry that you are disappointed with our decision to cancel
    your order for these DVD's.

We regret that the pricing error occurred but in our view it was
clear that the price displayed for the item was a mistake.

We endeavour to provide our customers with the best possible online
shopping experience and we realise that on this occasion, as a result
of a pricing error, we have not met that standard.

Thank you for your understanding. We hope you will continue to enjoy
    shopping at Amazon.co.uk.

    Warmest regards

    Deepak Goyal

it is a shame, but what really annoys me is that they haven't sent an email explaining why they have removed the orders.

I'm sure they probably will. It's just that knowing it's a misprice you are all constantly checking the orders online to see if they are going to get through or not so you are seeing these cancellations before you normally would, IYSWIM. Under normal circumstances you'd place your order (for a non misprice) and then just wait for the usual course of events - not be checking all the time like you are with these :)

    Amazon's phone number is 0800 2796620

Hope you have better luck than me! Just got told they'd cancelled because of mispricing on the website. Said I could still have my book if I wanted...as if!! No apology or anything, they said I would probably get an email soon. Only good thing is they said my gift certicate that I had used would still be valid in the future.

If you phone you need to key in your order number or your phone number and also the last five digits of the card you used to pay.
  • Although I am pleased that it seems some of you have your goods dispatched, it hardly seems fair then that they are honouring other people's orders and cancelling the rest. If it was everybody's orders being cancelled then that's one thing, but to pick and choose whose order to cancel, surely that is not right?? If they are saying it was a misprice, why honour some orders and not the rest?

Because some managed to slip through the net and get dispatched before they stopped them. Mine can't have been far off. However, these things happen and you have to just grin and bear it....and wait for the next one.

Just replied and they had better send me some vouchers or it's all gonna kick off! ;)

    Hi there,

Thanks for your prompt reply to my last email. However a couple of points have arisen.

I fail to see how it was obvious that these prices were 'pricing mistakes', I have never purchased these DVD's before so how can I be expected to realise that the price was wrong!?

You are correct in stating that Amazon has not lived up to my expectations lately, I didn't even receive an email telling me that my order had been cancelled. Surely that is common courtesy?!

Personally I feel that Amazon should be giving me some kind of goodwill gesture to apoligise for the time I am having to spend on this matter.

    Many Thanks, Alan

My order has been cancelled and some of the gift certificate balance has been re-credited but £5.53 hasn't. It's an odd amount as nothing I ordered cost £5.53
